Serious question, what would you hold a referendum on, my own personal bugbear is different rates of taxation, why for being hard working and earning a decent income should i pay a higher rate of taxation than someone else, there should be one level of taxation for all regardless of income why punish someone for improving their life.

Barrow, the license fee and the BBC along with it. Rancid organisation. Why do I have to pay for a TV license in order to watch every other channel when I only watch BBC about 2 hours a month. The people who still like it can pay a voluntary fee as I do for Sky.

If you had asked me 20 years ago I would probably have given the bbc the benefit of the doubt,but no longer.any arrangement that in 2018 could lead to a prison sentence for watching a tv is archaic.i hardly bother with the bbc these days due to its politically biased current affairs programmes & selective editorial crime reporting,even programmes like dr.who now have to have scripts to brainwash kids to their agenda.then there are the salaries,£1.5 pa to the expert virtue signaller lineker,£500,000 pa to autocue newsreaders£86m.on a new dead Enders studio,who the hell makes these decisions.
No doubt there will be some coming on to say that the licence fee is tremendous value for money,well if that’s really the case then scramble the service & let people decide if they want to buy it,if it’s so good they have nothing to fear,wonder why they darent do it,they might even increase their revenue.now where did I put my yellow vest? |

Yes you can. The Beeb used to be prepared to have a few alternative views expressed in their comedy shows and dramas but much less now. The thought police have only exerted themselves in the last 20 years. I know they are following as well as leading public opinion. It is hard to know which is which.

Social norms have moved massively in 20 years, let alone 40. I’m no defender of the Daily Mail but it led a campaign to get justice for Stephen Lawrence. Homophobia is far less prevalent than it was. This is progress, in my view.
