no he wont, hilary will win, over the course of the next few months trump will wilt..people will see what a useless cu£t he is..i,ll leave you with the words of marco rubio.."if he had not been left 200m he would be selling watches in times square"
|

By:
Tony? I think the only people who do or will see him as a useless c£lt are the people who would never have voted for him in the first place. To millions and millions of yanks he's a messiah. He says what they want to hear. I personally think Clinton will win but it wont surprise me if Trump does. You cant second guess referendums, elections these days.

Trump is a complete fool. His statement that he might ignore the Nato treaty is utterly reckless. He is inviting Putin to invade the Baltic countries.

zorro it's "The Don" not Donald. It is time the other members stepped up to the plate and paid their rightful contribution, out of Europe there is only us, France and Poland paying their dues even Germany only pays correctly every other year. They are also getting fed up with the amount the UN is costing them. The people I spoke to when there actually did favour Trump slightly and I can see him winning, he only needs the white blue collar workers behind him.

By:
anyone who thinks the don will win does not see the demogrphics in america. trump only polls well amoung white men?..he needs 90% of white men 20%of hispanics..25%black and asian to win..plus the biggest turn out in a election ever....
the next few months his so called policys will be looked at..(not looked over by republican base) he has no policys,..build a wall, bring jobs back to america, and get rid of trade deals they have already signed...he says he will wipe out isis but wont commit to troops on the ground as he knows the yank public dont want it...onceh is so called policys are looked at they implode with stupidity..i personally think clinton will win easy.. |

perfect summary of Trump here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CceQISThDYQ The problem is Hillary is just as bad. Its a shame Gary Johnson can't gain more traction. |

MW the Justice Department have still not acted yet on the FBI's recommendation of no further action on the Clinton emails.

Don't think your numbers stack up tony.
The bottom line is to be president you need to win the electoral college. You can become president but not get a majority of votes. Burton I will be amazed if any action is taken place against Hilary. I suspect Trump will probable go ahead in the polls this week but then clinton will get a boost from her convention. The polls don't really mater at the moment. I suspect the more Clinton speaks the less popular she will become. Trump is unlikely to alter his simple messages. I still can't see him winning though unless there are more terror attacks in America or the economy tanks between now and november. |
|
By:
there is a fair bit of anger out there from the average Joe regarding Clinton's laziness/incompetence, there is also anger towards the Democrats handling of the economy. They were just over $10 trillion in debt when Obama took over and now it's almost doubled at just under $20 trillion.

mighty whites..i watch a lot of fox news..cnn etc..im going by what they have said..and frank luntz..who is top republican pollster. fox are the most rightwing nuts you,ll see, the bias is incredable..i admit in america hilary gets more press favour..but fox make up for it

some truth in that..but trump is a big turnoff, and you still have to have policys,..crime in america belive it or not has come down..(bar for 1 year)but trump wants to run on a law and order ticket saying its out of control? he makes up his own rules, and then says gun laws can stay the same?ffs come on anyone with any amount of sense can see thats madness..its ok for the god and gun nuts who the republicans appeal too..but to win a election for president...no..no way

hilary v Trump is about the same odds as stay in the EU/ Brexit.
Hilary stands for the same as the remainers. More globalism, more Wall Street, more immigration, more falling of long term living standards for the havenots. How did the Clintons get so rich? Trump stands for the same as the Brexiters did. He just needs to tone down the language a bit as alot of his policies make sense. |

Most states will be solidly republican or democrat. 48 of the 50 states are winner takes all the electoral college votes. So if you take two states with same electoracl college votes winning in one state 99.9-0.1 and losing the next 49.9 to 50.1 means each candidate picks up the same number of electoral college votes.
The swings states will be key but this year the normally democratic rustbelt seats may go for Trump. If he wins these he has a chance. |

I think by the time of the Election Chump will be completely exposed and humiliated. He is not an idiot. I think he is quite smart in some respects. He knows what lines get him votes but there is the problem. They only get him so many because he is a complete and chunt.
Some of his views have resonance. Nato contributions for example and even banning muslim refugees from troubled areas, trade deals, dumping by China, currency manipulation, Intellectual Property theft. He hits the buttons. Hot button selling I think it is called but if you look closer he has no solutions. I think Obama will make Chump look stupid and he cannot wait to go after him, Slick Willy will lace him for sure because Chump is a bully and will go after Hillary through his indiscretions. Joh Stewart will come out and make him look stupid too. I just hope Sarah Palin throws her intellectual might into the argument. The only chance Chump has is for a stream of terrorist attcks on home soil so I would not rule him out completely just think the odds are stacked against him and would bet on it if it became attractive. |
|
By:
he's got the zeitgeist wd, dangerous to dismiss him.
no substance no policies and as much of a fraud as clinton but his simple slogans work. |
|
By:
Trump isn't a Republican conservative and won't get votes off the traditional religious right, who will have fringe candidates to support.
Having said that although I supported Brexit I never thought we woul win in a million years and lost a lot of money as a result ![]() |

i watched charlie rose this morning(top us interviewer) he had a new york times jounalist on his show that had just done a piece with trump on foreign policy..trump now says nato is no good, he will only defend countrys that benefit america financially? he says if russia invades the baltic states its not a issue he would go to war over?in the pacific he now thinks japan gets to good a deal from them and maybe japan should get its own nukes, the old guard in the gop are spiting feathers and allies are starting to doubt americas resolve ..this man is a danger to the stability of the world..he is fundamentally unsuitable for the job ..unstable,..guests on the show say he sees all this as a business deal..
the yanks voted in gw bush(twice)so anything is possiable...but you better hope he does not get the job. |

By:
correct tony, Don Corleone said "never tell anyone outside the family what you are thinking". I seriously think Trump might have early stage dementia, it would account for his bizarre outpourings.
|
|
By:
Tony and Dave do you support US imperialism?
|
|
By:
ofcourse not?but nato is the back bone of britains defence.., and also the yanks have stopped other countrys from getting nukes on the promise they will come to there aid..china knows if they go after japan the yanks will fight..north korea also..if the yanks leave nato..it will collapse the world will become a unstable place..its not rocket science?

I genuinely think Chump will have a melt down and show his true colours namely that he is a narcissist.
Someone will call him a short fingered vulgarian and he will blow live on air. When we get down to the wire the gloves will come off. Like most bullies he is remarkanly think skinned and it will be easy to get under his skin. There are so many area's to attack him but when non aligned punters start going after his family and it goes viral he will react badly. There will be many photo's of his naked wife photo shoped on to Air Force One. This he will obviously find hard to take particularly as the perpertrators will probably be 13 year old boys! When Obama and Clinton go after him it will not just be highly amusing I am sure it will become car crash tv. The comedians I think will hurt him the most. Comic virals will do him more damage than Hillary but President Obama and Slick Willy will be the attack dogs and after we have seen today Mrs Obama will be the acceptible face of political assasination. I can't wait. The leg end had it coming! |

Trump is admirable in many ways. He has got the measure of people in Britain and Europe and the rest of the world.
you have to respect him for that if nothing else. |

The democrats' best candidate was Sanders; their best speaker is m. obama.
Being any good don't come into it. This is a top job in Global Capitalism we are chatting about here. Now we are faced with the Americans choosing between TWO EVILS to see which will be OUR NEW LEADER. Again, that's some democracy! Just like in SCOTLAND and IRELAND, ordinary folks have no say over who their masters select. My two rulers, Kenny and may, are meeting today and are expected to chat about the BORDER. Fk all will get decided: they'll come out saying "we are looking at practical ways to make this work"; she'll be chanting "brexit means brexit". Neither of the fkrs got my vote; neither of them will do anything constructive. |
|
By:
They are already chatting about "electronic controls" of the Border.
![]() Fields and hedges! They couldn't even automate the fkn tax office and struggle to get broadband going even in city centres! Meanwhile, d.davis ( brexit minister) is still at the stage of hiring teams of fkn lawyers. They haven't got a scooby, but they're all cleaning up and growing the pension pot ( for themselves). |

What do you mean he has got the " measure " ?
You mean he understands how to exploit people's fear? That is not difficult. Do you know what he would actually do should he become President? |
|
By:
he is simply giving the British, and the rest of the world, a few home truths. .
You cannot depend on America holding your hand forever, the british leftists don`t like the sound of this but Trump is happy to tell them. |
|
By:
i see sean is getting himself into a tizzy about the border again, what exactly are the problems? i suppose sean will say he dosn`t believe in borders, silly boy.

Home truths?
He hasn't supplied any truth! Do you know what he is going to do? I am again! |

That strategy didn't work out particularly well for the republican candidates in their primaries. Every time one attacked Trump swatted them away. I think Hillary would be best keeping bill out of the way. Its a strange election I get the feeling that virtually any other republican or democrat candidate would win against Hillary or Trump. Trump may blow up or have a meltdown however on the other hand he may become more reasoned and controlled in the run up to the election. Hillary will surely get more unpopular the more she speaks. Trump has his issues but clinton has a wardrobe full of skeletons. Its a tough one to call - events I suspect will ultimately swing it oe way or another. |

Whisperingdeath
i have no idea what he has said that you consider not to be the truth most of the things he says i agree with..so far, that can change of course. |
|
By:
lfc
you agree with mosts of the things he says? Thanks for clearing that up. |
|
By:
one of the issues with trump is he says very little in terms of actual policy detail.
Most of his statements are slogans with very little to back it up in terms of detail. The strategy is good the slogans take hold and people remember them. Everyone can remember and understand make america great again or im going to build a wall etc. The finer detail in the policy is less forthcoming. Trump has made two major stateents - he will build a wall and mexico will pay for it - that almost certainly won't happen. Secondly he is going to ban muslims entering the US again that wont happen. |

Mighty Whites,
I think The Republicans were too scared to go after him early on and then it was too late. I have a feeling that the Democrats will poke fun at him and try and humiliate him to provoke him. There is a difference. I remember Fox news in 2007 couldn't believe their luck when this bloke called Barack Obama came from nowhere to challenge the unassailable Hillary Clinton. They could not believe a black man could be elected as President. The Republicans made the same mistake thinking this buffoon Chump could possibly win the nomination. They joined in the joke and it bit them on the assrse. I don't think the Democrats will repeat this error. Trump is a dangerous like Erdogan in Turkey and Hitler who was backed by Jewish money! I don't disagree with you about Hillary Clinton but there is a lot a stake for everybody and all sides will play hardball. The normal rules for Politicians does not apply to Trump but he does need to be elected. There are enough people ranged against him to make it exceedingly difficult for him to get a majority. The danger comes from more of these " attrocities ". People are fed up, scared and angry. There may come a time when they say enough is enough. Hitler came to power during economic and political uncertainty. There is a rising tide of Facism growing in Europe. There will be a strong and violent opposition to that and the flames will be fanned and spread. The result is polarisation and it is frightening. I know what you say about keeping Slick Willy out of it but the Short Fingered Vulgarian will not be able to help himself and sling low blows. This is just a humourous peek into what is about to pass http://shortfingers.com/ I am sure they will be posting images of his naked wife and that will hurt him into saying and doing something stupid. These attacks won't come from The Obama's or the Clintons but they will come and be viscious and humiliating. I think 1.5 on Clinton will be a good bet on the day of the Election. |

Trump's pandering to popular bigotry will likely end once he gets the reins.
He's already tried to tone down his sh it. All thee demogues did and do this sort of thing. No way would he ever be able to do threequaters of the sh it he says he'd do. The main weakness is OIL. . Trump's dad left him a very wealthy man, but no way will he be able to carry the whole U.S. economy. |
