Two million petition for ANOTHER referendum. No. The result is clear and irreversible. Out means out. Lets face the consequences of what we have voted for.

Except for Scotland and N.I of course. They are quite entitled to ask whether their people wish to be dragged out of the EU. They are entitled to a second referendum - they voted against the consequences of the first.
If you are a younger person, baffled that your elders have forced this on you, I'm sorry.
That's democracy.
Let it come down.

If scotland get another vote and go for independence, does that open the new UKs EU question again?
And if the new UK votes to stay in the EU, does Scotland need to reconsider its independence vote again?

Or should the people who cant see 5 minutes into their future accept that democracy has been served.

How many 18-24 year olds actually bothered to vote?

Has democracy vanished now in this country?  U have eejits signing a petition for a 2nd go and now some Lammy boy looking for parliament to over rule it.  U couldn't make it up.  If it doesn't suit these knuckle draggers this is what they try to do.
Report thegiggilo June 26, 2016 2:33 AM BST
Complete and utter face 3% deciding the future of country into the unknown and now complaining they voted as a protest vote and didn't want out,if you ran this referendum again it would almost certainly be a different result that's how much we wanted it.Must be the weakest vote of confidence ever in any e;lection..

Absolutley no second referendum. We are already the laughing stock of the world.

Kriskin, chelsea girl

It turns out that the lammy boy knuckle dragger who set up the referendum on May 25th is a Leave campaigner who thought they were going to lose:

I think the younger generation mistakenly thought that a 'Like' on Facebook meant they'd voted.

Fortunately, you have to get off your arse and either go to a polling station or fill in a form for a Proxy or Postal Vote. Around 33+ million people managed to do it, yet apparently a large percentage of 'the young' failed to do so.

The referendum was announced 4 months ago in February, so unless you were in a similar position to Tim Peake, you have very little excuse for not registering and not voting. Jesus, they even re-opened voter registration for 48 hours when the system had only been 'down' for a maximum of 2-3 hours, to try and 'help' the result.

As Nigel has said, this isn't some pub game where it suddenly becomes 'best of 3'!
Report Rydal June 26, 2016 1:30 PM BST
Nigel Farage said back on May 17 (in an interview in the Mirror) that a 52-48 win for the Remain side in the EU referendum would be “unfinished business”. He said such a narrow margin would prompt him to fight for a second referendum.

He said: “In a 52-48 referendum this would be unfinished business by a long way. If the remain campaign win two-thirds to one-third that ends it.”

Not muck talk then that it wasn't a pub game where it suddenly becomes 'best of 3'!
Report potlis June 26, 2016 1:48 PM BST
All we hear, parrot fashion, from most of the young remainers is 'they've taken away our future'.

Wonder what the young of other EU members make of that.

Currently youth unemployment in the EU

Greece;  48.9%

Spain; 45.3%

Italy: 39.1%

Portugal 30%

France: 24.6%
Report gambeano June 26, 2016 2:06 PM BST
Fair play Rydal, I didn't realise that.

It makes sense, as the Scottish referendum result is also still considered 'unfinished business' and that was 55-45 to Remain part of the UK.

Unfortunately, as with almost anything produced by Government, it was full of holes you could drive a bus through. Perhaps a few basics should've been put in place, such as minimum turnout and a required margin of victory, but a true Boolean referendum should simply require more than 50% of the vote. I believe French presidential elections require 51% of the vote, so even by those standards, the Leave vote was valid. The losing side in any such contest is nearly always going to query a close result and that is to be expected, given how passionate people usually are on either side of the debate.

This referendum has (hopefully) woken everyone up to the fact that there's a lot of p****d off people in this country, on both sides of the referendum debate. Politicians of all parties, both here and in the EU, need to get real and do the job we pay them for, which is to serve the wishes of the people they supposedly represent, in the best way they can. If they want to get rich, they should leave politics and go and work for a bank. If they generally want to serve the interests of the people, then get on and do it.

There is a real opportunity here if people and governments have the will and determination to grasp it.

I did support remain but accept the result, that is the view of our nation. Of course a 2nd referendum is ridiculous that is the result. However, earlier this year Boris said that a 'No' vote could lead to further negotiation and another referendum. Interesting.

The truth is that many people voted leave because they and their communities have nothing left to lose. They are not racists and they are not stupid but they do hate politicians because in the main they are seen as having zero understanding of the day to day problems of people that do not live in London. Everybody's vote is of equal worth and if people do not like that they will have to lump it.

I said before the Vote on here that it was amazing how important each vote is.

My quote was that "I wish to use my little persons vote to cancel out Camerons" & it did just that.

I am just so depressed that the way everything is going.I suspect that this vote is heading in the same direction as the other votes in other countries over the EU.They have all been just ignored.

I think they they will find another way of wiggling out of this resounding victory,by hook or by crook & we will be onboard the EU Titanic as it sinks into the Sea.

I just do not see how this country will survive as a democracy if this vote to leave is not honoured. How can this be anything other than leaving the EU.For better or worse Sad You cannot make rules up after the event Simples.
