Neil Hamilton is the wrong person to put up for the Leave side.
Gisela Stuart would be interesting.
This is not a left/ right squabble its a globalist/ nationalist one.

The BBC is only putting Neil Hamilton on to be shot at.
As for Owen Jones, is there a more boring political commentator earning a living from writing predictable leftie political stuff at the moment?
He's tainted himself by speaking at conferences organised by UAF. Which indicates that he supports totalitarian type government.
''In an interview with The Student Journals, Jones commented that several people have accused him of using politics only as a tool to raise his own profile and that he risks being seen as a "lefty rent-a-gob".[29] Wiki.
He summed himself up nicely there.

Out of curiousity how are the viewing figures doing for QT,anyone have an idea ? Is it having any effect on an audience that probably includes the BBC news team and a few thousand committed party activsist/supporters ?

Definitely (Frank Field). I'm not sure what to make of Owen Jones anymore. I read his book 'The Establishment' which opened my eyes considerably as to what goes on, that most of the general public never hear about and I honestly thought he might be a Leaver, given his description of our Establishment, but now he's apparently okay with the EU establishment. Another rose-tinted, spectacle wearer who tries to convince us the EU can be reformed.
I'm also sick of hearing the likes of Liz Truss bang on and on about the great EU single market of 500 million people. What about the other 6.5 billion+ people on the planet we could trade with?

Owen Jones was asked how we should the UK go about with reform changes within the EU. His answer was that people campaign for change, making those who represent us accountable to our wishes. Basically a united people power can bring change.
Yet if we decide to leave the EU, the remainers like Owen Jones are scaremongering workers rights. No mention of people power if we leave, only if we stay.

Owen Jones has copied the Alan Johnson argument...
Stay in the EU to stop the democractically elected government 'hurting' UK workers.
Where was the EU in stopping zero hour contracts?
Where was the EU in stopping massive unemployment in southern Europe?
The EU is not interested in workers rights. It is interested in supporting big business by setting regulations that kill small business.

The Remainers infer that if we left the EU we would somehow go back to the days of Victorian workhouses.
We had 13 years of democratically elected Labour government with massive majorities. Are the Remainers seriously suggesting that, were it not for the EU, we'd somehow have suffered on issues like maternity and paternity leave and other workers' rights.

Thought it had the makings of a disaster for the leave campaign. What with being in Cardiff which has done very well out of the EU and Neil Hamilton being a spokesperson for leave and a Plaid MP who is pro EU and that dippy Labour lad.
But I was pleasantly surprised, it went far better than I expected which again shows just what a hard sell the EU is. Even those arguing about the grants etc they give us need to be told more often that the EU have no money, its our money! they just give some back to us that's all.

Owen Jones was constantly deviating from the original question to protect his tribal cause. Frank Field was the one who did not seem interested in tribal antics and answering the questions thoroughly.

I completely agree that in this whole debate Frank Field just seems so cool & laid back. His honesty about a subject, that in a lot of ways do go against his own moral views as a labour MP,are really refreshing. He does have the feeling of an Old fashioned style Headmaster. He was the only speaker that nobody in the panel wanted to speak over & that meant that he got his calm & reasoned views out there. If only we could have a few people on both sides that could sit down & debate this all together, like him.I reckon that we might get a reasoned debate.Making it a lot easier for the undecided to come to a decision based on facts & not Hyperbole.
I as a certain leaver, would be quite happy for a 100% truthful debate to be used to settle this.On facts & 100% calculations.
Win,lose or draw. The big worry for me.Is that with Brexit & the Scottish Referendum being settled using this untruthful & headline grabbing way of debate.
This will just take in Politics & any other serious debates onto the same way of settling things,as if it isn't bad enough as it already is. The trouble is that the Media just love it.Guaranteed Daily Headlines etc.Normal rational reasoning is unfortunately not so exciting & Headline grabbing.

I found it interesting that he seemed very concerned about losing Labour voters or them feeling rejected by the party, he was offering reassurance that if you want to vote out then vote out and don't be made to feel like you are doing anything wrong. He obviously hasn't got his head in the sand like the rest of them and recognises that their traditional core voters the poor/working class are wanting out.
These voters are being belittled and insulted by the younger academic Labour vote and there is a great risk that they will be driven away should we vote to remain. Labour has a major identity crisis currently and these people will look at Nigel Farage and see him in betting shops and on the Thames fighting for the livelihoods of fishermen and they will identify more with him than with Labour.
Many of these voters have been apathetic about politics for some time and vote Labour without thinking about it as they are in Labour areas. This referendum is lighting a fire within them and people are very passionate about it. Should we remain I think Labour will be in for an almighty shock come the next election and it could be Scotland on a bigger scale, UKIP could go from 4m votes to 10m and it will do irreparable damage to Labour.
I do believe they are effectively campaigning for their own destruction, they'd better hope they lose!

Field could be a vote getter for the Leave campaign amongst Labour voters who could be seeing the Out team as just a bunch of Toffs and Tories who otherwise they would not comfortably be able to relate to. This referendum still has a 'Gordon Brown and Scotland' moment still to come. A good week for Leave, they could have done with that week in 2 week's time. Peak too soon?

I found it interesting that he seemed very concerned about losing Labour voters or them feeling rejected by the party,
I was speaking to party activist some years ago about Labour abandoning their traditional voters. His reply to me was that the proletariat will always vote Labour.
There you have the attitude of the Labour party in a nutshell.
Frank has always been a loose cannon in that regard. He addresses things others would like to sweep under the carpet. Which is probably why he's never fulfilled his potential in the labour party. He's simply too honest to get on.

You'd be naive to assume that these people will just go out and vote for Labbour after what happened in Scotland. There will be a lot of them very angry should we remain and where to they express that politically at the next election?
The only place they can and that is UKIP.

They were discussing the Shootings in Florida, when reviewing the tomorrows Papers etc. He would not allow them to even consider that this was an issue with ISIS.He would only accept that this was a 100% a Homophobic attack by a delusional Homophobe & not anything to do with the Islamic views on the whole Gay issue. They tried everything to explain what they meant, quite reasonably. He just went quiet & you could see him getting more & more upset. He made a few silly comments & after a while he just tore his mike off & stormed off the set. They just carried on & finished the show. I think that he showed himself to be very immature even though he is 31 or 32 years old.He showed that he might not be cut out for serious Debate unless his views are not fully agreed with & applauded. What a Plonker.

Totally agree,he just seemed to think the unless your Gay you cannot understand this Atrocity. It is so horrific & Terrible & I think that everyone in the World should be alarmed & to feel the sympathy for every single innocent victim & there families.

As an apologist for Islam this puts Owen Jones in a very tricky position, hence why he had to remove himself from that situation. Islam have a huge problem with homosexuals, most Muslim families would disown members of their own family if they were homosexual. Many would want harm to come to those family members that were homosexual.
Obviously what Owen Jones would tell me right now is that UKIP types feel the same. No they don't.

Why on earth did the BBC allow that Izzard thing to represent remain when they were outnumbered 3 to 2. He has damaged their campaign with his stupidity and pettiness. Question Times on the referendum need to be limited to serious politicians or business figures from either side.
It lowers the whole debate to have some publicity seeking weirdo who is about intelligent as a boiled potato trying to influence the biggest decision this country has had to make in 40 years.

Seems that those Labour reps are blaming over supply of low-skilled labour on the Tory government then? What a bunch of slow thinking tribalists.
Corbyn, Chukka and co will rejoice in being a protest party for the next 20+ YEARS as those Labour voters the talk about exodus on mass to UKIP.
These people are driving the working class of this country crazy with frustration. They have had it with them .
