I'm a bit late with this but it doesn't seems to have been reported on here.
A court has ruled in favour of the council, and the land at the proposed site will be returned to the council next January.
The DMA - Dudley Muslim Association have already forked out £750,000 in legal and planning fees, and now they can add Dudley Council's legal costs of around a quarter of a million pounds to that That makes a million the DMA have thrown down the drain on the project.
Many thanks to all those involved in stopping this monstrosity from being built. Including the EDL for the publicity they gave it. Also Bill Etheridge MEP and his party UKIP, who also ran a campaign to stop it being built.
Myself, I won't forget the news shots of the Labour MP Ian Austin marching through Dudley town centre holding a banner in support of building the mosque. That was in direct opposition to the wishes of his voters, and the overwhelming numbers of non Muslims around the borough who were totally against the building of the Islamic centre.
Perhaps the voters in Dudley North will remember whose side Mr Austin took in this dispute, when they vote at the next GE.
Good stuff, Dr Crippen. In their countries you wouldn't be allowed to pray to anyone except Allah in public. The Mosques should be overseen to make sure they're not paddling more extremist filth.

There were quite a lot of Christians living as safely as anybody in Iraq prior to 2003. Then a few fanatical evangelicals launched a crusade and now you ARE likely to be slaughtered just for being a Christian. Funny old world innit.

Up until quite recently Christians were still in the majority in Iraq and Asia Minor, but thanks to a sustained program of genocide and persecution they have almost been wiped out, let’s not forget that Muslims are the aggressive invaders in most of the Middle East.

Very good news. Algeria had a civil war about 20 years ago every bit as barbaric as the present lot. They have managed to maintain a certain peace through this present madness because although they have a form of democracy the military control and over see everything that happens in the mosques.

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case here Rickibobby.

All mosque building should be stopped (and prefereably reversed..)
My grand plan would be to call all Muslims to swear allegiance to the Head of State and Defender of the Faith. Make 'em fly the Union Jack while they're at it.
That'll put the cat among the proverbials..

One point that has emerged from Paris is that one of the killers worshipped at a large mosque and the local Imam claimed not to have known him because there were over 200 worshippers and he could not know them all.Perhaps we should limit the size to stop the growth of massive capacity mosques to ensure the Imams were more in touch with their congregation and took some responsibility for radicalisation ?

I don't believe that the imans at these places aren't aware of what is going on under their noses. I believe that at the very least they turn a blind eye to it.
They must think we were all born yesterday if they think we can't see through their half hearted condemnations of their own kind.

'Twould be quite simple, imo, to monitor these here masjids, but we should never forget that the majority of this evil ultra-conservative puritanism is pread by so-called social media.
Anonymous Hacker has already got 900 pro-daesh twatter accounts removed. Good on them! The cyber war is big.

funded by Saudis for sure, where did these muslims get 26 million from? most folk in Dudley havnt got a pot to piss in, yet this massive amount of money finds its way to a deprived part of the west midlands. well that's either a lot of cheap market garments sold, a hell of a lot of kebabs sold or the taxi drivers are fleecing young drunk white folk on nights out. where has this money come from.....

The DMA cites action by far right groups as, contributing to their failure to beat the council on this issue.
Far right indeed. So the people of Dudley are all Nazis now?
The final decision to reject the bribe of £325,000 made by the DMA, was made by the Labour administration who knew the backlash they'd suffer from their own supporters if the potential eyesore ever got built.

The reason the DMA fought so hard for the site was because it would be right in the faces of everyone who lives in Dudley, or passed through it on the town bypass. They tried to rub the noses of the locals in it and they came unstuck.
Here's a suggestion: Why don't they all simply convert to Christianity? Then they could use the church at the top of the town for their prayers, and also utilise the one at the bottom of the town centre for the same purpose. After all, one fairytale is as good as any other.
I'm surprised that Dudley council haven't put that to them. I know that I would.
Think of that - 500 years of progress at a single stroke.

Or they could even try and manage with the 10 mosques that are already situated within Dudley Borough.

good point that is arley. as their is a considerable size mosque just down from top church near queens cross, that has quadrupled in size in the last 2 years by purchasing and converting the adjacent old carpet factory. I do believe the tipton Taliban worshipped there, im also told they have Saudi imams preach via video link...... I wonder why they cant come and preach in person...

and it just gets better, they islam preached in queens cross mosque is salafism.
What is Salfism?
Salafis are fundamentalists who believe in a return to the original ways of Islam. The word 'Salafi' comes from the Arabic phrase, 'as-salaf as-saliheen', which refers to the first three generations of Muslims (starting with the Companions of the Prophet), otherwise known as the Pious Predecessors.
What do Salafis believe?
The 100-year-old Sunni-based Salafi school of thought aspires to emulate the ways of the Prophet Mohammed. Recognisable from their distinctive long white robes, long beards and flowing head scarf, Salafis are socially and religiously conservative.
Although they believe in a unified Islamic state and Sharia law, they are not always politically radical, because they regard political involvement as un-Islamic.
That said, Salafism encompasses a huge range of beliefs - extending from non-violent religious devotion at one extreme, to Salafi Jihadism at the other.
How popular is Salafism around the world?
Salafism offers what many see as a purer form of Islam, stripped of cultural and national associations. This, coupled with its traditional lack of political involvement, makes it especially popular with new converts.
It is the predominant form of Sunni Islam in the Arabian Peninsula, where most people are Wahabis, subscribing to a far-right interpretation of Salafism. In Egypt, around 5-6 million of the 82 million population are believed to be Salafis. It can also be found in Britain, where Salafism is apparently increasingly popular in universities.
What about the rest of the Middle East?
In the aftermath of the Arab Spring, Salafis received an unusual amount of press due to their growing involvement in politics. Following the toppling of president Hosni Mubarak, Salafi groups in Egypt have been responsible for a number of violent attacks on Coptic Christians. They burnt two Coptic Christian churches in 2011 and were responsible for a death during a clash with a Christian alcohol shop owner, while another fight with a Coptic Christian led to his ear being cut off.
At about the same time in Jordan, during protests in Zarqa around 350 hardline Salafis took to the streets to demand the imposition of Sharia law. Violent clashes led to 83 police offers being injured. And in Gaza, a Salafi group called Tawheed and Jihad claimed responsibility for the brutal kidnapping and murder of Italian activist Vittorio Arrigoni, claiming he had spread "corruption".
Where else is Salafism growing?
Ouside Europe and the Middle East, Salafism is also on the rise in China. "Among China’s Hui ethnic group, Saudi-influenced Salafism has been present for nearly a century," reports The Diplomat. Salafism is confined to small pockets of the Northwest and Yunnan provinces, but in recent years the Chinese government has begun to keep closer checks on the group.
"Since the 1990s, and particularly following 9/11, the Chinese state has placed the Salafi community under close surveillance," The Diplomat says. The government fears that Salafism's "close connections with Saudi Arabia as well as presumed Uighur Salafi networks … might herald political and religious violence in the future"
How organised are the salafis?
They have no coherent policy or ideology and there is no governing body to control various Salafist elements either in Egypt or elsewhere. As a result, there is a wide range of Salafist movements pursuing various agendas, and they are accountable to no-one. It is this that makes them potentially dangerous.
A recent documentary on Muslims extremists in Britain, Muslim Resistance, looked at a Salafi group in Luton. The film-maker Masood Khan insists that most Salafis have spent the last 20 years "trying to persuade Muslims not to get involved with [extremist] groups".
But Dr Ghayas Saddiqui from the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain told The First Post that there was "no moderation in [the Salafis'] approach". He added: "It is a very strict interpretation of Islam, and their attitude to both non-Muslims and Muslims who are not with them is very harsh."

Just below the mosque there are some private houses, and one of them used to be owned by the late Dr John Gilbert the former Labour MP for Dudley East and former.

Always a staunch proponent of Britain's independent nuclear deterrent, he caused controversy[5] when he proposed neutron bombing the Afghanistan-Pakistan border to "prevent people from infiltrating from one side to the other." Wiki.
He must be turning in his grave. Compare him to the current Labour MP for Dudley North Ian Austin who marched with the Muslims through Dudley in opposition to the EDL, when they went to Dudley to protest against the building of the super mosque.
Here he is outside the town Hall second from the right carrying the banner. Towards the bottom of the page.

I've bumped this to the top, because it explains that Austin isn't a one trick pony when it comes to racism. In the first link above he's seen supporting an ethnic group, long before anti-Semitism erupted inside the Labour party.

This community does not understand sharing, takeover yes; other ethnic groups do not express themselves in this manner ie full-of-themselves and in-your-face. Yet, they've scorned integration and other religions for fear of adulterating their origin and beliefs.
The present Labour Party is about votes regardless, sad to say.
