A lot of people talked nonsense on the basis that they 'know' when in reality they do not.

Do you know your date of birth? Answer yes or no.

A lot of people assign label(s) to themselves and therefore their intellect are inside a 'box' thus limited by the said 'box'. Break yourself out of the box and become like water, where intellect are free flowing and unrestricted. No label(s) required.

There are no facts except for what you know, everything else are opinions and opinions can not be labelled right or wrong thus there are no right or wrong, only many degrees in between.

In order to have many intelligent debates on this forum, you all must understand what you know. Follow the below for advancement in personal growth.

Research your own experience;
Absorb what is useful;
Reject what is useless;
Add what is specifically your own.

Cheers ladies and gentleman, may 2013 be a prosperous year for everyone.

'Our'. Don't you mean 'my' hence 'now answer MY question, what was your previous forum name?'

I have no previous forum name. Always been Ski-Wiz to those who know since 23rd September 2005.

Only one person managed to answer the date of birth question.

Such simple question beyond the forumites' ability so discussion about politics surely beyond your ability?

only one person needed, so simple and inarguable was the answer.

why do you disbelieve your mamma ski-wiz, or were you born in pre recorded Jurassic era, or in Chad to unknown parentage?

what is the precise point you make?

No one knows the answer to a simple question.

Ronnie answered, but he was wrong.

No human knows their date of birth, it's impossible.

Do you know your date of birth? Answer yes or no.

Wrong question.

I certainly know my date of birth or DOB, because it's written on my birth certificate and cannot be denied.

The true date that I was born is a different matter.
By:

When: 04 Jan 13 18:11
Ah Dr Crippen.....the DOB is the same as when you are born.

To know something one must see, hear, touch, smell, taste...the 5 senses. This is how one 'know'. A birth certificate written by someone else is NOT what one 'know' but what the person who wrote the birth certificate knows. The person could have put 20th September instead of 19th September because it clashed with someone else birthday. (it does happen)

When Dr Crippen came out of his mother's womb, making noises, does Dr Crippen look around and ask what the date today is?

No. No babies ever do that.

Hence no one knows your DOB.

Birth certificate, mummy, daddy, etc, telling you your DOB, are primary information to them but secondary to you.

The morale of this thread and the simple question, simple to those who are wise and ego free, is to teach the masses on the this forum to drop their ego and stop thinking you know everything, when really you don't know.

3 simple words....I don't know......apparently the hardest 3 words for the masses to say because of their useless ego. The masses thinks that saying 'I don't know' would make them feel inferior.....no...no....it makes you wiser than the rest.

Sticking to what you know.......will improve the debates on this forum to a higher level.....perhaps an aim for the year 2013 for everyone.

How do you know that?
You might be the only one on here with limited knowledge, and if you have gone through life only believing what you can prove I'd say it's a good bet.

Because it's impossible for any one human being to know everything.....thus we all are limited by what we know.

Treetop.......Dr Crippen is entitled as a free human being to do as he want so long he doesn't break any common law.

This thread debate the reality of what human 'know' and how. Nothing patronising and but merely challenges the forumites to think on a higher level which you obviously can not.

No he isn't, he is bound by statute as well; keep that nonsense for your lizard men nut cases.

Oh and "knowing" you birthday?  The difference between "knowledge" and "true belief" was perfectly well dealt with by Plato 3,000 years ago.  So don't come on here thinking you have invented some clever new mind trick that is in fact older than the Bible.

I don't know my birthday is 7th Jan, but I believe it is because my mother told me so and she was there and had no reason to lie.  So, I have a belief that 7th Jan is my birthday and it is almost certainly correct.  Just as I "believe" the world is round.  It is by the way.  And you are bound by statute.  Wear it.

Statute are laws created by politicians and most of them are utterly rubbish. Whether Dr Crippen is or isn't is for oneself to decide not you.

Going to love this.......how do you know what Plato said?.....are you over 3000 years old?.......is Plato 'right'???LaughLaughLaughLaugh

Many centuries ago, people believed the earth was flat...yeah get it....flat.....oh dear.....but you know it isn't flat.

I don't know my birthday is 7th Jan, but I believe it is because my mother told me so and she was there and had no reason to lie.  So, I have a belief that 7th Jan is my birthday and it is almost certainly correct.

Very good 10/10...well done.....you have answered the question correctly, a bit late. You see, you understood the difference between 'know' and 'believe'.....give yourself a pat of the back....smileHappy

I agree treetop.

If we took his advice and only commented on subjects that we are experts on the forum would die.

As an example Sibaroni could start a thread about a legal matter and nobody would answer because most of the posters here aren't experts on the  law.

I answered Ski-Wiz's question with my first post.

Nevertheless I'll elaborate for his benefit.

Your ''date of birth'' or DOB is a term used on documents, and is the recorded day that you were born, which is used to establish your age and cannot be challenged. It is cast in stone for all to see.

The true date of your birth is another matter.

Ski-Wiz was on a sticky wicket from the word go because he asked the wrong question.

But he's so full of himself that he missed the point completely.

When you are asked for your ''date of birth'' or ''DOB'' you are being asked for the recorded date of your birth, not your opinion of when you were born.

Ski-Wiz, I'm afraid it's back to school for you.

'experts'....oh i never said that....i said 'know'......huge difference.

Your ''date of birth'' or DOB is a term used on documents, and is the recorded day that you were born, which is used to establish your age and cannot be challenged. It is cast in stone for all to see.

The true date of your birth is another matter.

Again....very poor understanding of the English language.....I've never asked your DOB on the 'documents' or 'true' DOB.....i asked 'Do you know your date of birth?'....huge difference.

Ski-Wiz was on a sticky wicket from the word go because he asked the wrong question.

Oh dear this is getting more painful.......get rid off the two-valued thinking....right or wrong.....there IS no 'wrong' question.

But he's so full of himself that he missed the point completely.

Just because you can not grasp the nature of this thread.....Dr Crippen IS the one who missed the point 100%.

When you are asked for your ''date of birth'' or ''DOB'' you are being asked for the recorded date of your birth, not your opinion of when you were born.

Ski-Wiz, I'm afraid it's back to school for you.

Are you currently digging a hole?......just keep on digging........I've never asked for your 'opinion'.....i used the word 'know'....are you so illiterate that you do not know the difference between the meanings of the words 'know', 'opinion', 'documents', 'experts'.....it IS you that needs to go back to school and buy a dictionary first.

Therein lies one of the many problems on this forum. Someone types something and others read, then for some strange reason in their poorly functional brain, changes the word 'know' into something else.

A tip......read slowly and careful, when in doubt consult your dictionary.

Tip; try simply asking people when they were born next time, it'll save you making a fool of yourself.
