When I commuted frequently by train the main characteristics were ripped seats, litter on the floors, windows so dirty you could barely see outside, standing room only if you embarked less than 5 minutes before departure time, terrible punctuality, endless stopping between stations for no apparent (or given) reason, no toilets, no buffet carriage.

Had a walk round Birmingham city yesterday,Shops closing, new Charity shops and poundlands and food stalls the only buisness booming in this period. The rents must be too high?
