If you don't have a smart tv is it possible (preferably through  cables as I haven't set my router to WIFI)to view the action on my TV through my computer and still use my TV as an ordinary tv recieving  pictures from the cable connected to the airiel outside. my desktop computer is positioned one  metre from the TV. how would i achieve this and with what cables?

The TV's 6 months old.

yeah just a standard monitor cable and you should have a "source" button on your tv remote that will get the pc input , but it might be a bit blurry if the resolution is low.
