Judging by the lack of activity on this forum ( 2 posts in the last 3 weeks ) you would struggle to get 3 Forumites never mind " at least 13 "

19 registered!
Should we cap entry at 100 players? |
By:
Depends how you define " Forumites " I guess.
Clearly the 19 who have registered cant all be even semi-regular contributors to the Forum, you only have to look at the lack of traffic on here to see that. There was only three new threads started in the last 6 weeks and only one of them got a reply. 100 people have viewed the thread though so clearly there are still people read threads, they just dont bother posting on them. |

Its certainly a sad state of affairs when you have to post sensational and blatantly misleading topic titles to get people to open your threads.
I've seen threads pulled by the Mods on here for a lot less. |

€150 Vegas Experience token bounty on the head of Chipfire, if he plays it!
What's your Poker nickname, Chipfire? |
By:
Its the same as my forum name. You do realise if I play it I will almost certainly win it don't you ?
|
By:
Are you that good chip?
|
By:
LOL, yeah, I'm great.
Didnt play but did notice that shortly before the off there were more people registered for the game than had viewed this thread. Must have got the password from somewhere else, so maybe not so secret after all. |

Nice work Columbo, but they picked up the password from the threads in the other sub-forums .

CHIP..........Do you play any of the live poker, UKIPT or Gukpt etc?
|
By:
No, I play very little poker of any description . The last live thing I played was something Klup organised, which featured a good selection of genuine former BF forumites, must have been nearly a year ago. Buy in for that was only about £75 from memory. I didnt cash but it was a good day, and was nice to meet up with a load of people that used to play/post on here.
To be fair I did freeroll my way to both WSOP and WSOPE packages via Betfair back in the days when it had a poker platform that people played on. Have very little interest in the game these days, only regret was not taking the advice of a couple of very wise former forumites, and learning how to play cash games properly about 7 or 8 years ago, think thats the only way to make worthwhile money regularly from the game these days. |

But still interested enough to check how many are registered in a Betfair freeroll not sure if thats funny or sad.

Played quite a few of these events. from £200 - £500, try the qualifiers for the £1k events on dtd or pokerstars. It is tough online, lost patience playing in front of the screen for hours so decided if I was going to play these events just buy in and stop the satellites, play the odd satellite at the casino, prefer live play, well prefer it when you get on decent tables where you aren't surrounded by these hooded idiots who wear shades indoors and don't utter a word for 8 hours, too many serious people in these events, shame really
CHIP....Was that a freeroll right to the main event(10k)? how did you get on? |

Well Eagle, if you read the full thread, you will see that BF Poker said if I played it they would give 150 Euros to whoever knocked me out. As it happens I knew several people who were playing it, and it obviously wouldnt have been that difficult to engineer a situation whereby I could do one of them a favour.
I looked during the day and there were about 50 odd registered. I checked again not long before it started and there was 180+ runners, which I thought was strange. They do have form for running games where there is a late surge of registrations from non UK countries. I didnt play it, I didnt have any intention of playing it, (though a couple of people asked me to for obvious reasons ), and I haven't played on BF poker at all since I said I'd had enough at the end of last year. Still read the forum in passing, partly out of habit, partly because people still send me PM's on here, partly out of having a job where I'm online with time on my hands and insufficent imagination to think of more interesting forums than this one to read. |

Didnt play either Harry. Sold the WSOPE Main Event seat to Mandylou that used to post on here.
The WSOP package I took the cash equivalent as had just started a new job and couldn't get the time off. Did think about quitting the job but glad I didnt. |

I was sent a 20 page word document relating to cash games and the correct way to approach them, was supposed to be the holy grail, I never bothered with it and just stuck to tournament play but it seems as if you need to play cash games to keep your bankroll ticking along.
Sounds as if you have a good rep on here and obviously know how to play the game, do you think you could make it pay on the live circuit if you entered these competitions that run through the year in the UK? |

Hi JC, long time no speak etc.
Wouldn't have thought so Harry. I got made redundant back in the day and spent about 9 months playing poker and doing a bit of temping here and there. I could just about survive on what I was making playing poker but there was a lot more STT traffic online back then and a lot more fish. Cant remember who it was said it on here, probably Punterz, but he was right in saying most of us were crap poker players who were only winning because we played peasant stakes against Greek/Cypriot/Spanish donks and that as soon as we started playing against decent players we would all go busto. I never went bust, in fact I've never had a losing year since I started, but I started to hate playing STT. Its monotonous and tedious and with all these Eastern European multitabling wonderkids incredibly difficult to make the game pay. I cant imagine there are many full time UK STT players. 5 or 6 years ago loads of people were gonna quit their jobs and play poker for a living. Dunno how many still do. I worked my way up from $2 STT to $50 STT but when I got offered a really good full time job, it was a no brainer for me to take it. I enjoy what I do and I've gradually stopped playing poker. MTT there was always just too much variance in it for me. The live MTT games in my limited experience are softer, but again you need big chunks of luck to go deep and you can make one misread and thats it yr done. At least if it happens online you can find another tournie to play if you aren't already playing more than one. Best people to ask I guess would be Dooberama or Thrappers if they still read/post on here. Doobs seems to have been playing MTT forever so presumably makes it pay. Thrappers quit his job a couple of years ago and from what I've seen on Facebook still seems to be living the life of Riley. There were others used to post on here who played for a living back in the day, dunno what happened to them ? Dubai must still be playing as he won a big un last year. Would also imagine Punterz and the Florida 3 are still at it out there somewhere. Probably shopping in a mall in Miami as I type. Will bump their classic thread if I can find it. |

fancy that but the plane would freeze up for no apparent reason leaving us all wondering what was going on ? Just like your inept site
