lost money today after being disconnected several times 3.50am onwards for at least a few minutes

I'm having the same problem. The client will start but when opening any random table it jams and gives a disconnect error. So i can't open and join any tables. What's up with that?
Report ForrestGump September 17, 2013 8:12 PM BST
I'm "happy" to see others getting disconnected as well.
These disconnections has been common from day 1 for me on Betfair Ipoker.

My experience is that other players rarely disconnects, so it seems other pokersites on Ipoker don't have the same problems as Betfair.

Many players has left Betfair because of these disconnections and lack of support.
They got to sort these things out before it's too late, if not they will continue losing customers, including myself.

I had loads of trouble on my wireless network but I found that if I reset my router then the problem stopped. When I discovered this "fix" I only had the problem intermittently.

I'm now wired on a PC and haven't had any problems except for the odd network wide problem.

Promotions are my main concern, they seem to be giving less and less. I'm on Boyle tonight even with a RB deal here.
Report hornshoe1 September 18, 2013 12:16 AM BST
Promos lol,I hope your fix lasts Oval, its BF Disco-Infernal here, wired or wireless, multiple interruption seems the most dependable facet of the current poker product.

Why isn't betfair responding to this thread. This disconnects are f*** tilting.

I recently came back to Betfair because Im still on the old RB deal and with the rake race aswell on RTR its worthwhile. However, I too have been experiencing these disconnection issues. Its happened to me numerous times, most of the time I havent been in a hand (thank god)but the one time it got me when I was and I'd flopped a set. This was on a cash table with quite a bit of money in the middle. Needless to say, I never got to see out the hand.Sad

Same here, numerous problems with betfair.  The latest when they disconnected me but when I tried to login they said my account was locked due to five consecutive tries at the password.  What rubbish, I only entered the password wrongly once.  Had to ring them up and get it unlocked.  Blinded out meanwhile Cry

I have started to play at will hill again from today, I know it is still ipoker but, as others have said, there seem to less problems on the site and you can get your money in or out at any shop in cash.

I notice that a thread has disappeared, that was stating that online poker was to be discreet, not straight.

Just surprised to se
e that someone at Betfair Poker actually works weekends.

what's more annoying is that, when, one minute later, it reconnects, the client first shows the promotions, then the message "we are trying ...", then you think you can click and get to play that full house you left there but the program has got yet another useless window to show you first: the lobby, !
how could I play without that, arghhh!
Report chipfire227 October 28, 2013 6:18 PM GMT
The problem if anything is getting worse. Played last night as the Monthly 5K Elite Freeroll was on and only 105 runners. Tables just vanish, you shut everything down, you reboot, get a shedload of pop ups, get back to your table, the hand has finished and your chips are gone.

Got near the bubble last night and I didnt dare do anything other than shove or fold as knew if I raised there was a good chance the table would shut itself down and someone seeing I was discoed would take my chips. For this issue to have been going on for months and not be resolved pretty much sums up the whole Betfair poker experience.
Report mookie October 29, 2013 12:46 AM GMT
I have the same problem, in one hour i had 2 disconnects where all the windows was closed and both times i was active in hands... Why dont betfair respond on this matter, dont they want two have any customers?
Report shudacuda October 29, 2013 10:31 PM GMT
My thread on this was pulled.

No attempt by b/f to solve it or contact customers.

Just ignore it and hope every customer disappears.
Report chipfire227 October 30, 2013 9:44 PM GMT
You can only assume they either dont care, or they dont have the technical know how to fix it. Its got to the stage in STT's where you can tell which are the players on BF's skin just from the disconnects.

Its tilting enough as it is, without having to reboot then handle all the pop ups before you can get back to your table. Dunno how people play cash games where theres 4 and 5 betting happening regularly.

I finally got one of them Spotlight tables which are BF only to fill and even though it was only 6 handed two players went missing for a good 3 or 4 minutes about halfway through.
Report hornshoe1 November 1, 2013 4:35 PM GMT
There's no 'either' if you dont have the tech you communicate that fact, its singularly no cares.

Discos hereabouts was even worse than usual yesterday.
Report chipfire227 November 1, 2013 6:28 PM GMT
If they communicate and thereby admit the fact their product is not fit for purpose,  then they leave themselves open to compensation claims from folk paying a whopping 10 per cent fee in return for a game of poker free from spontaneous crashes. They will also have an even greater exodus if they publicly admit there is a stability issue.

The point I was making, probably not very coherently, is that while everyone knows there has been a problem with disconnects from day one of the switch, BF have been unable to resolve it. And that has to be because they either dont care about the problem so havent tried to resolve it, or they dont have the ability to fix it.
Report chipfire227 November 1, 2013 7:44 PM GMT
I think its also worth mentioning before the crackerjack out of hours moderator logs in and pulls the entire thread, that once upon a time if you got discoed you were allowed a reasonable period to reconnect before you were shown as sitting out and your cards folded if there was action.

With these random sudden disconnects you can be discoed for around 10 seconds and your cards are folded, quite often when you have just had the perfect flop it seems.

I give up on betfair now after been loyal for many years. Two days ago the random disconnects made me loose a pot for several hundred dollars and im sick of the lousy support i get here. Where should i move, any suggestions is very welcome?

it just happened to me again. This time I had a full house with 6 players in the pot, and the silly client after a disconnect had to show me the silly lobby window which wasn't going despite my clicks and I couldn't push 'all in' and lost the hand!!! ARGHHH
WHY DO WE NEED TO SEE THE LOBBY WINDOW and any other silly windows when it disconnects? Why when I have to re-login after disconnection, it has to check for updates????
COME ON, it doesn't a genius to understand that the lobby window is a waste of time and space!
Report marc64 November 8, 2013 7:53 PM GMT
Let alone the disconnects, in the last 2 hours the sw client crashed on me at least 4 times, which is a new "feature". No reason whatsoever to crash, totally random and afterwards I need to restart the client from scratch.
And I see people "sit out" for a minute or so all the time in my table which presumably means I am not the only one with problems.
This is getting better and better!

I wonder where they stand legally at the moment, continuing to offer players a product that they have to pay 10% cake for,  despite being fully aware that their platform is completely unstable, and that their customers are being essentially fleeced ?

That fact they make no comment on the issue whilst continuing to take money under false pretences by running games speaks volumes for them as a poker " provider " .
Report jc30 November 17, 2013 10:48 PM GMT
There is a dedicated "Official Betfair" thread on 2+2 and I told the rep named Harry that it might be a good idea to start responding to players comments on their own community forum first because ppl are fed up. I went on to ask him what they are going to do about the frequent disconnections and when he finally replied ( about a week later), he said they are confident they have found a fix and it will be deployed soon. My advice would be dont hold your breath!

As has been stated several times on here its a known issue within BF.

I spoke with Anthony the Promotions Manager ( ? ) on the phone a good six months ago and he said they thought they had resolved it. As someone else has said there's a recent thread on the 2+2 forum where Harry the Betfair rep admits they are aware of the issue and he believes they are close to fixing it, and yet they continue to take money from people for something they cant provide i.e. a stable platform on which to play and a reasonable level of customer service.

As I've said its a complete and utter waste of time contacting their Helpdesk as you will get told the same garbage they tell everybody, clear cache, delete cookies, try again, if it doesn't work uninstall/reinstall, blah, blah, blah.

There are times when it works fine- I played the 5K Elite Monthly Freeroll tonight for a few hours with no problems whatsoever- and there are times when its a complete and utter nightmare. But nobody in their right mind could commit to playing for large sums or on a lot of tables.

Just thrown out again.Get the message incorrect username or password entered, despite the fact i was already logged in.

This was bad enough but none of the pop up boxes would even close.

Just away to shut down and try and close them.

The site is a shambles and they are in denial.
Report shudacuda November 27, 2013 5:40 PM GMT
Obviously caused by Betfair as when i managed to get back in 15 mins later there was a huge update.

All these updates and no improvements.
Report marc64 December 4, 2013 4:32 PM GMT
No Improvement? For you/us. For them the improvement is the new widget bar with the handy side games.

This software is not designed to handle disconnections and crashes, that is obvious.
When, after a disconnection, the occasional "invalid user name etc" nonsense, you need to kill the process with the task manager otherwise it doesn't go, restart it, it is checking for updates, new login window, enter your details again, then it goes in "loading tables" mode which, in reality, means it has to show you loads of nonsense like promotions etc, and force you to click 2-3 times to close those silly new windows before you can actually go back to play.

They cannot reproduce it? Well, they could send me a debug version of the crappy software and I will send back the log in 1 week.
They can reproduce it? Then, if this is the best they can do, all we can do in response is inundating them with bad comments on this forum.

Probably it is not even Betfair's fault: This is someone else's software. What is really annoying of BF though is their naivity on certain products. When things go wrong or are unclear or badly designed or else, this translates always into a bad service to the clients, not necessarily less money to them. It is the client that doesn't receive a fair treatment which is what we expect, isn't it? They should have their priorities revisited a bit though.
Report marc64 December 4, 2013 9:19 PM GMT
and by the way, today the "loading tables" part of the crap is taking forever so I lost two matches, with internet perfectly working on all other sites!
This is yet again a new "feature".

Report marc64 January 9, 2014 5:37 PM GMT
New episode today: Been kicked out perhaps 6 times, 5 times due to internet connection going and coming back quickly, 1 with the client crashing for its own reason, and lost 2 matches.
So what is the point? The point is that when the program crashed, on restart, it had to do the "upgrade" which means to load all the nonsense .dll and pictures in order to to show me a new the "side games" widget bar!!! And this is where I lost the second match where I was in the lead!!

IT TOKE MORE THAN 1 MINUTE to load all that nonsense!!! THEY COULDN'T WAIT FOR THE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE UPGRADE of the 14th, they had to do it today !!! ARGHHH!!!
