Every1 knows the ongame poker network is KAPUT... so a few questions for Betfair Management!

1. When will you let your devoted and now dwindling customer base know when you are moving?

2. If you are moving?

3. Are you going to revert back to your own Betfair1 independent and highly popular poker software?

4. If not, why not?

5. Your customer base has went from 205 000 in 2009 to 47 000 in 2013, what action are you taking to bring back your customer base?

6. Why does Betfair poker management treat its dwindling customer base with a care less attitude?

Please answer the above questions ASAP as we... the poor mugs still here demand an answer!

I was amazed to see myself 103rd on the Natural Born Grinders Leaderboard last week. Firstly because I am in the words of punterz a "peasant stakes player " and secondly because I have a full time job and was at work on 4 of the 7 days.

If Betfair genuinley only have 102 customers raking more than I did last week then times must be hard. A few years back I wouldnt have even been in the top 100 in the UK.

Did anyone else get this email?

New Betfair Poker on iPoker is about to arrive at Betfair.

Offering more players, more tables, cash games 24/7 and a greater range of tournaments - not to mention Speed Poker - New Betfair Poker will be an amazing experience.

New Betfair Poker will be the largest recreational network, and you'll be a part of it.

Watch this space – the future is just around the corner.

No, not me Oval, where did you get it from?

This would be a VERY bad news, ipoker is not the place to be, IMO.
Report maggot January 7, 2013 6:33 PM GMT
Ipoker it is.

Great, just great :(

Im not sure, maybe redkinds ?

I got it earlier today, and i have'nt played here for over a year now. Must admit i do miss the amiability of some from the old days, when  during the tournaments we could find our pals and rail them. If they go on ipoker will ' find a player ' be available ??

hi Jeff and Ovalman Very surprised to see you two still loyal to Betfair.

I play mostly on Stars, Hennigan. I drop by this forum every day but I've very little funds available on Betfair so don't play here. I hated Ongaming so I'm glad of the move but I'd like to see what they will tempt me back with before I try the new software.
Report Froggitt January 7, 2013 7:34 PM GMT
Does anyone have the old threads or emails from BF extolling how great the new Ongame software is? Isnt this the fourth poker platform in five or six years? 1 Crypto 2 BF 3 ongame 4 iPoker.
Report Froggitt January 7, 2013 7:38 PM GMT
I rarely look at this forum or BF Poker. However Ive just noticed there are maybe 20 active threads so far this year. There used to be 20-50 active threads a day. Just shows how well BF have managed to kill Poker. Well done, if that was your intention.
Report chipfire227 January 7, 2013 7:41 PM GMT
I can't see Ongame carrying on without BF. I sat waiting 20 minutes for a $20 STT table to fill today before giving up, and thats before we all migrate. I may stay as long as my cake deal is ring-fenced and play some games when they switch, but unless there's some whizz bang promotional activity I wont be playing much. I think Betsafe is possibly next best Ongame skin, they certainly were offering decent ****.
Report ajcairns. January 7, 2013 8:17 PM GMT
nice of them to announce it on their own poker eh?
Report chipfire227 January 7, 2013 8:30 PM GMT
I haven't had the email. Though I did get my Leaderbaord money a day earlier than normal.
Report shudacuda January 8, 2013 1:07 AM GMT
Ipoker is pretty soft but you can take your choice of the skins on there.

I get decent rake from willhill so Betfair need to get their finger out with some decent promos.

Ha, I got the email. Just ignored it until I saw this thread and thought I'd go back and see if it was about the New Exciting Future Betfair Laugh

What must the players that are left playing on this farce do to get any respect from BETFIX.

For those that did not get that e-mail..you will find you have your I do not want betfix to send me any promo guff through your e-mail set to no ..hence no e-mail.

But when asked why no other attempt was made to inform the players/customers.After an e-mail that once again clearly shows that this site has no problems telling big porkies ( was told it was posted on forums..well that was until they where asked for proof that such was posted) then they sent an e-mail telling me that the person that should have posted had forgot . Still to see anything posted from betfix lol

I find it strange how companies can roll out the same rubbish everytime they change network about how great the new network will be as if they are creating a new site and not just signing up for somethign which most people will have played on before and chosen not to play.

I never played much on ongame as I thought it was terrible software. I do not play on ipoker either as they have hardly any mtts going last time I checked.

I think the way that most networks have gone down the toilet shows how the network model probably isn't sustainable. There are just too many companies offering exactly the same product so all they can compete on is price, leading to some companies offering **** deals which attract only grinders and not the recreational players needed. It wasn't so long ago that ongame was being heralded as a great success story and ipoker was maybe a possible rival to stars. Now ongame is effectively over and ipoker is a woeful excuse for a site.
Report chipfire227 January 13, 2013 8:44 PM GMT
I think you make an excellent point James when you say that most of us have played on I-poker already, and if it was any good we would still be there.

I've had two serious attempts at playing on there. The first I won a few quid but there just wasn't the traffic to make it viable. The second time was fairly recently and as others have said there seem to be a lot of bots and more worrying disconnections and outages.

I still havent had the email about the switch or seen anything from Betfair announcing it or advertising it.In fact if it wasn't for people posting stuff on here I would be non the wiser.
Report GHADDAFFI. January 13, 2013 11:19 PM GMT
I sent them an email and asked them what the score is... here is the reply:

Dear GHADAFFI,

Thank you for contacting Betfair.

Further to your enquiry in regards to the new Poker software, later this month, ”New Betfair Poker” will be launched to run alongside “Classic Betfair Poker”, which will be continued to be provided by Ongame, offering Betfair customers a varied, feature rich poker playing experience on the two leading poker networks.

“New Betfair Poker” will offer customers enhanced tournament options, more tables to play on and more recreational players to play against. It will also include the increasingly popular “Speed Poker” feature, offering players a more efficient and exciting poker experience with less waiting time between hands.

New and unique promotions and a rewarding loyalty scheme will also be a feature of “New Betfair Poker”, with lucrative sign up bonuses offered to new customers.

The iPoker network, owned by Playtech, currently has six million customers and is the fourth largest poker platform in terms of active players. Betfair’s relationship with iPoker already extends to its casino and other gaming products.

I don't know how many of you bet on the exchange, but they are making changes there too, none it seems for the better, and I have yet to see them ask the punters' opinion about what they like.
I think Betfair is a rudderless ship . I can only say how glad I am for not buying any shares when they floated .

private bob aka freek..

have you not noticed the "new betfair " site? where for example your  multiples are now fixed odds. you can't have a double on the footie anymore like you used to. like for example arsenal to beat villa 1-0 and united to draw halftime and win full time. Only on fixed odds. And you easily get better odds elsewhere.. that's what I mean by change
Report private bob January 19, 2013 11:34 AM GMT
hello  ghad, the reason i have not noticed then, i have never bothered having a multiple's bet on b/f,better of doing multiples with other bookmakers, such as b e t 3 6 5, if you get a multiple up on b/f,such as a yankee and are lucky enough to get all four winners, and have a big wad, do /b/f take out their commission on your full winnings,if so,that sounds bad, compared to other bookies taking nothing from your winnings .
Report chipfire227 January 19, 2013 6:32 PM GMT
Bf fixed odds multiples are the worst value anywhere on the net, especially on horses. Much better off with 365 or other firms with best price guarantees. The commission on these bets is extortionate, and borderline criminal imho.
Report R0ykeane January 19, 2013 6:43 PM GMT
People still take em though Cry
Report GHADDAFFI. January 19, 2013 11:02 PM GMT
I had some cracking results with multiples on betfair. But I would not touch their fixed odds multiples.. It beggars belief.. they make an absolute fortune..billions, by moving away from fixed odds. They had the bookies by the nuts.. Now they want to improve business by re-introducing fixed odds and to make it worse, fixed odds without value. I never considered looking elsewhere for value. I certainly do now. You would have thought that they should have avoided that. How brainless..
Report GHADDAFFI. January 19, 2013 11:15 PM GMT
Bob, regarding the commission... I think the better odds you get on betfair far outweigh  the deductions if you are lucky enough to have a yankee up. I actualy believe there is no commission as in single bets, but they reduce the sp by a small %
i.e. if your winners' sp was 8.8 u get 8.2 .. I found it to be better value than ordinary bookmakers .. so far. And the "non-fixed odds " mutliples are still available, thankfully. The other good thing is the place betting.. you don't have to worry if a horse gets withdrawn. you get paid the same number of places. In a multiple that can make a considerable difference, I can tell you from experience
Report chipfire227 January 19, 2013 11:38 PM GMT
Agree the fixed odds multiples are simply not value. Take a random event like tomorrows San Franciso/Atlanta play off game. You can back Atlanta on here at 2.8, but if you want to include it in a multiple you only get 2.7. First bookie I check is 365 who offer same price 17/10. However they dont charge me commission. All BF are doing is laying you at 2.7 then backing it back at 2.8, in effect arbbing on their own exchange.

Horses like I said are even worse. You stick a 4/1 shot in a multiple on here and it wins at 7/1 after drifting in the betting, you get 4/1. Best odds guaranteed bookies will pay you out at 7/1.

Also agree that the SP multiples tend to be better value than the fixed odds multiples, though they arent avaialable on the same number of markets.
Report R0ykeane January 20, 2013 7:51 PM GMT
The point is that 93.5% of punters who have their funds on here anyway are not going to say oh thats not value I'm going to leave it or place it elsewhere...they just say sod it...
Report chipfire227 January 20, 2013 9:42 PM GMT
Well if you did back Atlanta I hope you trade out. Laugh
