Had to put up with some drunk idiot of a bounty player from Betfair yesterday ,by his own admission he didn't play much poker!!!!  But Betfair needed players to work as bountys. Guy was half pi55ed when tournament started, then proceeded to order drinks at a rapid rate - two pints at a time at one point.  Did he think the bar was going to close?  he was throwing his chips in, going for impossible outs and just spoiling the game.  As this was a turbo game, chips were of a premium, he was going all in with 8,5 etc and hitting two pair against premium hands.
I would like to thank him for totally wasting my time and wasting what should have been an enjoyable day.
Dont suppose he will be able to read this just now as he will probably have a hangover for the next two days.

I would personally like to thank ALL of the drunken players in Bristol this week at the UKIPT

So much better than online poker where you can isolate pisssed up fools who think aggression goes well with beer you sad mugs

It was a lisence to print money

As for online , you can keep that shiiit , I reckon a very large % of cash tables are full of colluding teams who are carving it up based on what was being said in Bristol

One group claim to have 30+ players playing as a team in tourneys and cash tables and have lists of "fish" who like to play decent money who they isolate and target aand have even had 5 players on 6 seater table against these players

Seeing 10 cards on the flop then strategically staying in the hand meens they cannot lose.

I will NEVER play online poker as long as my arse points south

ADD to that the amount of sponsored "TEAM" players and the schmucks with large banks or buy ins have NO CHANCE

Aye like I said to Klup at the weekend, dont worry Dinos the Chelse shindig was the puffs event. The tournament for the top players takes place in Newcastle January time. Be too cold up here for most Southerners then anyway, half of em would freeze to death before they got out of the train station. Sad

Thanks chip - i do get a bit frustrated that i don't get invites to these events (well not in the last few years) but as per your very valid comments, they cost more to attend than it would to play a $100/200 buy in event online.

I dont play any real volume on betfair these days so they dont show an interest in inviting me. I used to know all the betfair poker crew, but now have no idea who is where other than the excellent live events team and the affiliates managers - many of whom who have also changed, but the new faces there also seem to be a good bunch but I only know them through email.

if u scroll the forum, will notice I havent started a thread on here for several moons - I have lost most of my passion for the site. Long gone are the days when people complained I was on here far too much.
Report chipfire227 November 13, 2012 11:12 AM GMT
The entry criteria is fairly straightforward-its for anyone at Master Status or above, which means 14,000 player points. If you dont put the volume in, you dont get an invite, which seems fair to me. Unfortunately getting 2-3 weeks notice for an event at the other end of the country makes it tough to justify financially. I cashed last year and just about broke even.

They have said they are putting an event on for Masters players North of Watford this time around- I'm not holding my breath.

Still got no idea how the forum lot got on. I assume if anyone off here had won it wewould know by now ?

I made it to 3 tables out.  Hans Vogl managed teh rare double of winning big pots off me with both aces and 23 suited (klup would have been proud).  Outlasted most of the regular forumites.  Chelsea M was still in, but don't know if he cashed.  I don't think there was anyone else I recognised still in at that point.

Most of the forumites were last seen playing a sit and go with rules that were unfathomable with guest players David Baddiel and Barry Chuckle.

I won the far more illustrious premiership result/goals prediction competition which had a decent prize.

Dear southlodge and all Betfair Poker forumites,

We’re writing to inform you that we take allegations such as the one in this thread extremely seriously.

Many Betfair staff worked hard in the past few weeks to ensure that the day would run as smoothly as possible, and this has been reflected by the overwhelmingly positive feedback received during and after the event.

We are in the process of understanding the full facts in this instance and won’t be discussing this issue further on a public forum. Please do feel free though to contact us via our Helpdesk should you wish to provide feedback on the event.

Best wishes,

Betfair Poker Team

Get a life! Everyone was enjoying themselves, so what if a Betfair member of staff had a couple of drinks and was playing like a donk. I, for one, enjoy playing against donks. Thanks for a good day BF.
Report chipfire227 November 14, 2012 7:04 PM GMT
There were 2 BF Bounties on the Final Table last year, both seemed to be good players.
Report lawslaw November 14, 2012 11:40 PM GMT
What a stupid thread.

How on earth can you moan because a bounty player is trying to give his bounty away? Not his fault if he hits. You should be celebrating the fact his range is 85+ not slating it..... you want him to call you with better hands? Confused

Man up cry baby. Cry
Report Wonky November 15, 2012 1:24 PM GMT
For what it's worth I had a great time and all the BF staff were great... i didnt notice anyone under influence (apart from myself- and I blame that on the Singa Beer on tap).

Seems the OPs major complaint is how the individual in question played poker... and last time I checked people were free to play how they want!   Try limit imo.
Report The Klup November 15, 2012 2:36 PM GMT
I totally agree with Wonky - how you play is entirely your own. And a few drinks at a social event - completely expected. I would get more upset if a Betfair employee didnt have a drink with me at the tables!

This industry is a leisure one and needs a touch of the lifestyle element.

Oh and lets just get this clear...you chose to travel 700 to play a freeroll.

You didn't have to like you say, you chose to.

If your 'premium' held against 85 then you wouldn't even be writing this thread.

So stop crying like a little biatch cos it seems live poker and you don't mix.

Over the years the betfair staff have and still are excellent at live events.I would be more annoyed if the bounty players did play like rocks and drink coffee all night. The function of tea and coffee is to wake people up in the morning, especially after a heavy night.Coffee should be banned from poker tournies as it smells, i need to drink ten pints just to phase out the smell of coffee. The tournament was a generous freeroll and some teetolling tightwad tries to get a staff member repremanded !
