having played a fair bit on pokerstars a few years ago ,i decided to give them another go .Opened a new account and deposited ,played about 6 hours altogether .I then needed the money back,and asked for a withdrawal .They simply REFUSED ,are they going bust ?? any one had similar ,or know anything ??

You can not just open new accounts! You should have used the old one.
I can safely say that pokerstars haevn't let me make a withdrawal for soem time. 
I just submitted a withdrawal of $100 there, to be credited back onto my visa card. No indications yet of any problems but I will keep you posted if there are.
I am pretty sure they would let me withdraw if I made any money.
You have probably taken another welcome bonus therefore breaking their terms and conditions!
