Didnt get an invite this year, presumably Master Status no longer merits an invitation, though no doubt there will be folk there again who dont even play on the site, lapping up the free booze my rake paid for.

Nah Bruce, was the same last year. There was mugs like me paying a minimum of 4k per year rake to justify their invites, sat next to blokes who didnt even have a Betfair poker login, but get to play because they are mates with staff. This year didnt even get the invite despite having between 17,000 and 20,000 player points for the last 12 months.
Good luck to any of the regs genuinely entitled to a seat because they play on this crap week in week out though, you deserve some financial reward for sticking with it. ![]() |

Any idea what time it starts?
By:
mid afternoon usually. 2pm/3pm area. mayb they havent done all the invites yet, hoping mine is lost in the post.

You can have my place chip, once I get the confirmation I'll see if I can transfer it.

I'm going

Thanks for the offer Bruce, its much appreciated, but it would cost me minimum £150 for hotel and transport, and I'd probably get better value just spending the money on a buy in up here. You should get yourself there, the one last year was decent.
By:
Hotel on site is only around £400-£480 for 2 nights and an extra £48 for brekkie.....
Makes sense to have a freeroll which many people may have to stay 1/2 nights to attend in one of the most expensive areas on the planet. |
By:
Its very much a game for Southern based players. Last years at Tower Bridge started at one o clock I think, which for us Notherners meant either a very early train and straight to the game or 2 nights ( Friday and Saturday ) in a hotel.
You can sometimes get a cheaper deal if you book well in advance, but its still expensive. I cashed last year and ended up slightly out of pocket, though it was an enjoyable day. |
By:
I'm on the list apparently gnash I was told today, but never got an invite, so might be worth you chasing them up.
Train alone will cost me over £100 booking this near the date, so deffo non starter for me. |

cheers for heads up chip.
weekend of 10th november clashes with gkupt week here in blackpool [ 10th is a 100 quid f/out which will get 200 to 250 runners] so i would think it b very ulikely i would go anyway to be honest. also there were 3 dates last yr , |
By:
also my play on poker probably doesn't warrant an invite anyway.
By:
You must have been on Masters status at some point between Aug 2011 and Aug 2012 which I believe is the entry criteria ?
Agree though that for the money involved for transport and hotel, it makes more sense to buy into something up here. |

No invite for me this year. Dropped out of master status :( Wasn't more than 12 months ago.
By:
Might be worth firing off an email Doobs. I specifically asked on behalf of another player last year what the qualifying criteria was and deffo got told you only had to reach Masters status during the 12 month eligibility period, not maintain it for the full 12 months.
Like I said I didnt get an invite but Im on the list of people who should have had one. |
By:
Got an invite going spare if anyone wants it PM or whatever and i'll see if it can be transferred.

By:
I got my invite, pity your not going gnashers , would have been good to see you there m8.
By:
Spoke to someone today who reckons they have around 60 confirmed entries so looks like good value again.
Gnashers they also reckon theres a good chance of a Northern Invitational for all of us who cant make it down to this one,to be held in the New Year, so fingers crossed. |

Not even looked yet, guess it will be expensive if its close to chelsea!
Guess I should pick somewhere where I cant get the hotels mixed up ;) |
By:
Just had a look and there's half decent 4star within 2/3 tube stops for about £130-£160 a night... the hotel at Stamford bridge is coming up at £350 a night !! :O from last time it's best to leave it till a few days before and get a "top secret hotel" on last minute.. will take a look Tue/Wed and post on here if theres anywhere decent.
By:
while im on has anyone had a confirmation back since they said "yes i want to come"
By:
Yep, got a confirmation email.
Probably not staying in London. |
By:
Weeeee what a difference a week makes... Millennium & Copthorne Hotels at Chelsea FC now reduced to £129 from £350.
If anyone wants to book...Lastminute.com > hotels > london... then sort by closest to Chelsea FC. The closest hotel to chelsea should be the top secret hotel with the description "Fabulous Rates In Trendy Chelsea - 4* - London. A modern and luxurious 4 star hotel which has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment..." .. should be top of the list. Or you can pay £216 for the same hotel named up front!?!?!? Booked in ... roll on the weekend, it's been a while since i had a pass out to pass out :D |
