Hi everyone (it's me BetfairPokerPR)
I wasn't fired! Just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Betfair (Poker) and am now working again full time in the poker industry. Chip and HF are still with Betfair Poker with the aim of improving the relationship to the community. They did a fantastic job in difficult circumstances during my time and always had players' interests at heart. I am still a big fan of the company (and them) and will be posting on here in a personal capacity going forward. Since I cannot play on my company's software I am now playing on Betfair Poker so no doubt will be whinging on here with you all |

Grand Tilt, were you the betfair pr that was responsible for issuing the statement that I was a female?
Even if you were not, you have been very nice to me and I am sad that you are leaving |
By:
Why are people assuming that I got fired?
|
By:
Hi annie - yes that was me.
Glad I could help..I am sure whoever they get in to replace me will be equally nice to you (and everyone) on the forum. |
By:
That statement was really helpfull to me, GrandTilt, so thanks again for taking the trouble to do it. I have been on betfair for nearly six years and you were the only one from betfair who offered to do something about the 'trucker' jokes. The situation got a lot better for me after that as I just printed the statement whenever my gender was questioned. As I have said before it was not the fact that I desperately want posters to know that I am a woman, but that I did not want them to think I was that kind of poster who poses as a woman to invite men to make a fool of themselves.
Although being a betfair pr must have been a thankless task as ongame is such rubbish . |

I would just like to echo Chip's sentiments here.
BetfairPR was the driving force behind the whole community/Betfair management meetings and genuinely wanted to make Betfair a better place for us all to play on. I can confirm he certainly wasn't fired but got a job at a rival poker organisation which was too good for him to turn down. He will definitely be missed! |

He was working in public relations for the Betfair/Ongame poker product, which, to borrow from Malcolm T, was about as popular as a Naz1 float at the Notting Hill Carnival.
Damage limitation innit ? |
