Clicking the link in the message from Betfair Customer Service leads to http://content.betfair.com/content/splash/unplanned/index.asp

So how planned this maintenance really was?

Eh, the original thread about this maintenance here was labeled "Wed 25th", as is this thread then. I just noticed that it's thursday today and so seem to have done Betfair too...  Excited

Still wondering how well planned this maintenance originally was.

As none of you half-wits can read a simple message, the maintenance affected Wednesday nights tournaments, it went down at 3am and clearly says it will be back at 1pm today(Thursday) hth

Bruce, my point in the opening of this thread was that in the thread where Betfair told about this update was a link to some page about this update. Clicking that link lead to the page that I have linked to the opening message of this thread. That's why I was wondering about the true planning of this update.

Welcome to the club of half-wits.

Bruce, when the software went down at 2am this morning the message was that it would be back up at 4am. Apologies for highjacking your post DarEsmule, I saw temples post and just thought I'd let him know that he wasn't the only one with a problem.

This thread is also about the matter that Betfair changes the info on their maintenance notices without keeping record of the history of the changes available to the users. Conversation about these service interruptions is always welcome in the threads I open about them. I would also like to see some Betfair personnel to take part in it.

Customer services make mistakes and that is acceptable up to some level, since they are only human and human make mistakes. But one thing that I don't think as acceptable is that the site is not taking any action on preventing those mistakes from happening again and again and again and again...

Thanks for the help Bruce, I was quoting the erroneous message you receive when trying to boot up.

I'm old school like Bruce. If they say they are doing planned maintenance I avoid the site altogether for at least 24 hours, irrespective of when they say it will be back on. Cool
