I am new to this forum, and as you can see I never wrote here before. But today I had a little problem which can be resolved only w/ help from experienced users. Here is the deal:
Very soon Tallinn will be held BPT (balticpokertour.net had some info). I am Russian but have visas and stuff to make a visit @ this series. But the problem is - I don't know is it worth it (cause Im low/micro stakes online grinder) in terms of living/flight spendings. I have no friends in Estonia, but the Russian-speaking forums saying that this series will probably have had overlay... So basically, I have no experience in estimate such series, but I know that it is new one, and perhaps would not be too popular among the players, etc. How to decide is it worth it?
Prior to the start of the series is very little time - I crosspost this message on multiple forums, hoping to get some advice. Thanks guys.
ME is a trmnt with 3 starting days, which means you can re-entry if you bust day 1A and/or 1B. Also €250k guarantee and €2k buy-in. But the puzzle is not that easy, in terms -- how much fishy can be innagural series of unnamed poker tour?

No offence as I am not trying to offend you but if you are a micro stakes grinder then I think it is probablr in a 2000 euro tournament there is a fair chance you will be the fishy!

As a UK micro/low stakes grinder I would not consider it.
As for looking at structure. It is definitely a 2000 euro freezeout and no re-entry. The site also says Russian pros entered.
Some other events at lower buy in, as well as sateliting in during the festival. Then adding on the cost of accomodation. Sounds like a good way to lose a lot/all of your bankroll.
The venue/site says that there is likely to be an overlay too. Maybe it will meet some of it from accomodation charges.
Hope it takes off for those in the Baltic anyway. My advice would be to play a smaller buy-in tournament closer to home.
Best wishes in whatever you do and let us know.

Helmuthian Folds - no offence sir, if I was not a fish, it would not create topics with such embarrassing questions :)
NickFiickTheOriginal, thanks for pay attention here.
I am not bad player but have some BR restrictions... BUT - some friends of my can stake me, if I'm finally decide to go. As I say before, I post similar message at multiple forums, trying to collect as more info as it possible, so community mates put me an idea that I could not participate in the ME, and play a couple of side events, where the composition players could be weaker. Besides - ME satellites not gone anywhere, so I can catch luck and being freerolled to main ... But, one of main question is still here - can the low/midstakes MTT grinder beat the side event field of this series?

What is your screen name? I have played a few of these type of events and with use of sharskscope/opr I should have a rough idea if you have an edge in something like this.
Tallin is good, hotels/living costs are cheap by european standards. I think that hotel was only 40 euros when I stayed. It is fine, but basic. I have played poker in that hotel and the locals are quite fishy, but the price tag may scare off the fishier ones.

Many thanks to all of you and especially for those, who shared experience -- who knows which kind of solution I make on this series without your advices.
So, yes, I decide to go. Right now Im pack my bags and haven't enought time to discuss, so here is the list of expenses:
Road [both ways] = €400 Living [7 nights @ cheap hotel] = €350 Fun = €400
Warm Up - €440 Sat to ME = €220 x 2 Big Event = €880 Omaha freez = €220 Knockout = €330
Moneys for cash games = €540 _____________________________________ Total: €4000 [I got stacked for 50% of this total].
... so, wish me luck :) Hope/counting on run hot and spend time with pleasure. See you later.
