Thats what helmuthian stated in his recent blog about me so today i climbed on the scale.

He is right Scared - i weighed a massive 252 lb's, 18 st, or 114.5 kg's.

Last time i weighed less than 100 was 9 years ago.

So - the new klup challenge is to be sub 100kg's by my birthday - 4 months and 2 weeks or so.

Are we taking bets?

LOL not quite what I said tbf.

I asked the question as to whether your lack of fitness is related to your lack of good results as since I got fit my results improved massively!

Anyway if you achieve ur challenge £25 from me to your football team pledged!

And some scales ?
Report The Klup February 24, 2012 10:50 PM GMT
Short of a public weigh in, that will be quite difficult. Webcam whilst on a scale I guess :) - The weight-in this am was accurate but i understand where you coming from.

I think im odds on to do it wonky. i would back myself at 6/10 or 7/10. To get down to 108 will be simple enough, it will be a grind after that. Cracking the last few kilos will be the biggest problem.

If i get to 95, that will be surreal. I think i was 20 the last time that was the case!

No way odds on to lose 15kg in that time, unless you are considering amputation.  That works out at half a stone a month roughly.

Are you planning to do any exercise? I've lost about 9kg in the last 6 weeks, but that's with quite a lot of running and walking (and quite a strict diet). Not sure how easy it would have been without exercise.

Unlikely to exercise much - im not a gym person but am pondering joining to do some cardio classes.

Diet will be my own version of the ducan diet, so all protein and no carbs is the plan. Soul destroying as i love pasta, breads, icecream, chocolates etc wine and beer is out the window as well.

This is a massive challenge as with three kids i inevitably have biscuits, icecream, pancakes and waffles flashed in front of me time and time again. Im salivating just thinking of it SadSad

I went down to Asda and picked up a 7.4 kilogramme piece of rump steak tonight. Biggest single piece of steak ive bought and started tonight with a 600g steak and a plate of brocholli! SurprisedSurprised

Im still hungry and those waffles lined up for breakfast tomorrow are going to be torture to prepare for the rats! CryCry

Devouring fish is good for your problem.

Are we taking bets?

I'm afraid it's a lay for me with no exercise.

You need to accept that losing weight always involves a certain amount of horribleness - that's what you've got to minimise. If you aren't very fit, doing cardio in the gym will involve quite a lot of horribleness, whereas walking an hour a day will burn an extra 400 calaries or so, be free, and probably wouldn't be anywhere near as difficult. Giving up alcohol rather than cutting down would be tricky for me, too.

Good luck whatever you decide to do, though.

Buy a bicycle and hit the roads. Laugh

Exercise is definitely the key.

Weight loss through diet without exercise is unhealthy and unsustainable. Reducing your carbs is a great idea, cutting them out is not.

You need to not try and mass lose weight in the way your planning to, sustained and gradual weight loss through a rerasonable program of diet and exercise is proven to be the best way to lose weight and more importantly sustain that weight loss.

If you follow the road you are planning then imo it is not a healthy option and also it is likely and weight loss you do achieve will go straight back on afterwards as you are not going to stop eating pasta, pancakes, waffles etc or stop drinking permanently.

neither will i exercise indefinitely - but yes - i do believe that true weight loss is only achieved through exercise.

Get out on those hills!

But try and get up to the top quickly.

And if you do play on line you have to do it on the indoor bike.

Plenty of water and lay off the beer.

Good luck.
