I guess its about time I give a quick update on whats going on out here in Salzburg. Hellmuthian Folds couldnt be at this event so I am afraid you will have to rely on not so imaginative posts, in the form of chip counts from me.
The Main event had a total of 248 runners and we are down to 112 on Day 2 Today. Team Betfair was made up of 26 players and we are still going strong with 13 Betfairians left in the running. Chip counts and names of the 13 are below:
Mike Braune 73,800 Mark Waistnage 46,300 Attila Urban 43,000 Andrew Waddup 42,300 Lars Schaeffer 38,000 Hans Vogl 36,000 Niamh Peters 28,400 David Fillenz 27,700 James Woolgrive 27,700 Mark Whittaker 23,900 Rick Leydon 21,600 Slaven Popov 19,800 Nick Fuller 16,600

I knew you would be the first and only person to reply Dinos .. no photos of the blogger I am afraid
I just looked for Slaven but cant see him anywhere .. hope he's not out of the tourney!
My pics just got approval so I am going to post them in a second but first a quick update on our Betfair Ambassador Hans Vogl. He is currently looking good with 130k chips, average chipstack is 67k.

Florida 4 will be turning in their graves on seeing the sartorially challenged crew above.
Presumably there are no malls in Saltzburg, just Primark and a T K Maxx.

Now that I am back in the office and am actually able to connect to the internet I think its about time I give Attila a well-deserved shot-out for placing 7th in the GSOP Salzburg Main Event.
Copy and paste from my dear friend Chris Hall (the official GSOP blogger) here are the details of Attila's final hand:
Thomas Butzhammer opened to 48,000 from early position and Attila Urban moved all in from the small blind for about 150,000. Snap-call.
Urban: AH, 8C Butzhammer: AS, JD
Butzhammer:
Urban needed an eight and the flop gave him one but it also brought a jack coming JH, 8S, 3H, 2D, KH tzhammer regaining some chips back he’d previously lost .....
and our champion Attila gone.
All in all, we really did have a great week in Salzburg. Few highlights from the week (in no particular order):
- Betfair player placing 7th and taking away a whopping €10,750 - the late night cash game at Motel One that happened every night. I think i might have actually been up €20 there making it my most profitable cash game ever. - the Team Betfair Dinner, despite Panda almost choking on a piece of paper that was hidden in his traditional Austrian sausage. - skiing which was absolutely amazing even though I came back black and blue and needed rescuing from steepest ski slope by the Betsson representative Tellef. With hindsight I see that I was slightly over ambitious for my first attempt at skiing. - meeting all the amazing Betfair players.
I really did have an amazing time and hope to see you all soon in London.
Right, back to my massive backlog after a week where hardly any work got done.
Fran
