Just won a main event ticket.....do betfair cover travel or accomodation costs for this?

Trains ain't cheap these days and despite never having been to London before, doubt their hotels are cheap either?!

im staying here - twin room is £120 p.n. - with advance payment, but im told if u book through an agency (late rooms or something) you pay on arrival.

Radisson Edwardian Grafton Hotel
130 Tottenham Court Road
London, UNITED KINGDOM W1T 5AY

i was in london this week and stayed at the grange, tower bridge hotel. was £114 for twin room an included full English breakfast for both of us staying there. Really decent value and will look to stay at the grange more often in future! they have a st pauls one too.

From what I can gather demand will be much greater than supply for this event, so selling your seat for very close to its price should not be difficult.

Myself and 3 others are stayig here: St Giles Hotel & Leisure Club  Bedford Avenue, Bloomsbury, WC1B 3GH Londo
http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/stgileshotel.en.html

It's £100 a night for a twin room and it is very close to the poker venue (well prob a 10-15 min walk).  Having seached for hotels a lot this is the only place close to the poker venue at a reasonable price that isnt a hostel.

Doobs:  Below is all the info available so far r the schedule.

Betfair Poker LIVE! London Main Event at the Fox Poker Club.

The Main Event plays over two days and starts on Saturday 18th February at 14:00.  You have been pre-registered to this tournament and will simply need to collect your tournament ticket by presenting your passport at Fox Poker Club.

The $600 + $50 Main Event will be played in a bounty format with $500 going towards the tournament prizepool and the remaining $100 placed as a bounty on each player’s head. You will receive a $100 bounty prize for every player that you eliminate from the tourney.

We have lots planned for you to enjoy as part of our hospitality and I will give you further details on this closer to the event but  the action kicks off on Friday the 17th February so I would recommend you plan to be in London from the 17th to the 20th February for a fun filled Betfair weekend.

Cheers footloose

That all looked familiar.  I got the same email from Fran, must have forgotten I got it.  Apologies to betfair

My father in law stayed at that hotel when we were living in London.  Seemed OK from what I remember, so I might give it a go.  I don't know if I am going to come down for Friday though.

yea not expecting a lot from the hotel tbh but it looks clean enough and its got a pool/gym if anyone can be assed to use it.

Think we are going to head down mid day friday and go out for lunch somewhere in soho (maybe wahaca in soho, really good mexican) around 2pm.  If anyone wants to join then post here or give us a shout whenever. My number is 07809420086.

cheers,

Matt

My missus says the rooms are small at that place, but can't see that been a problem if I am going down on my own.

100% supply wont exceed demand - I dont think it will be as subscribes as it was last year.

Expect a freeroll game on the friday - thats what they normally seem to do - a package or two to the next live event.

looks like i will be arriving bang on the start time on the saturday!

won a ticket, too, and would like to sell it, maybe for $500?
I already have the permission from support to transfer this ticket.
So if someone is interested, just PM me, and we can discuss the details.

Klup can you shed some light on how this works in terms of transfering the ticket to my name etc. Does Distant need to contact Betfair and they then contact me. Thanks

Sell the ticket and once both of you are happy that payments have been made. Original owner of ticket email me at prteam@betfair.com with your name and alias and who you sold it to and their name and alias. We will then transfer the tickets.

My worry is what guarantees do I have if I transfer the money?
By:
Distant View
When: 07 Feb 12 17:27
If you give me your name and poker alias by PM, I will send these details to betfair.

I am happy enough to transfer the ticket first based on trust.

Sorry, i was slow to reply - but looks like your both sorted! See you there fergie

Obv you agreed and it is appropriate the transfer takes / took place before the money is sent.

Nothing agreed yet The Klup but I am happy for the transfer of the ticket to take place first.

When I sold my WSOPE seat to Mandylou it was pretty straightforward. Bf emailed him first to confirm I actually had a seat to sell in the first place, he paid the cash into my bank account the next day, then I emailed BF to authorise the transfer.

As long as both parties use the same intermediary at BF it should be straightforward, especially  if you agree a figure in sterling not dollars.

i always think its easier to move the seat / package first - as there is more of an element of control. Betfair could always reverse a transfer where as money being returned might be tricky.

Hi Distant. Just checked on xe.com and the current rate is £1:$1.59 so $500 is £315. PM your bank details and I will transfer today. Cheers

James. There are a few others who are looking to sell as I have had PM's from others looking for the same money. Put the feelers out on here. Alternatively you can contact Betfair to buy in through your poker account. Not sure if there is a buy-in on the day option
