What's the best poker site(s) for me to join? Rake back is important as I am a long term loser (I feel better when I get something for losing again!). I only play tournaments, usually between $20 and $50 a time and it's generally from about 9pm till 3am once a fortnight.

Any advice, please? And what are the promo codes if required?

You play 4 or 5 tournies a month, at an average buyin of $35, and rakeback is important to you ???? What, all 3 quid of it ????

FWIW, you wont get rakeback on here. Probably your best bet is googling "poker rakeback deals " and taking it from there.

No, I probably play about 200 games a month as I like playing 9 player tournies and the occasional heads up.

Things are moving on the FT saga so I wouldn't give up on your funds just yet.

Subject:Poker reported Thursday that a deal has been reached to allow for the transfer of assets Full Tilt Poker (FTP) and French investment firm Groupe Bernard Tapie (GBT).

Sources told Subject:Poker that Full Tilt Poker shareholders ratified an agreement that would allow Groupe Bernard Tapie to purchase the forfeited FTP assets from the DOJ for $80 million. GBT would then be responsible for the repayment of non-U.S. players, and the Department of Justice would repay U.S. players.

Attorneys for Full Tilt Poker and Groupe Bernard Tapie declined comment to PokerNews on Thursday.

Additionally, Spanish News site Poker-Red reported Thursday that Groupe Bernard Tapie was among 61 companies to apply for a Spanish online gaming license before the new regulated market opens in early 2012. PokerStars, bwin.party and 888 were among the other operators to submit applications, but Poker-Red reports that GBT would be forced to repay all Spanish customers at Full Tilt Poker before it could reopen for business.

There is talk that to release player funds you will have a play through requirement. Not ideal but it's better than nothing I suppose.

pixie - whats wrong with playing on betfair? You obviously have a long standing account here.

its not too bad a place to play poker.

That's excellent news, Ovalman, had written my money off a while back. The Klup, I might sign up to Betfair but looking at the threads, was worried about the reliability of the poker site on here and wasn't sure of the liquidity being that it's not solely a poker site with no rakeback on offer.

For the type of poker you are looking for, this is a sensible site to play on.

There are a couple issues but they dont really affect players with the volume you will generally play.

I think ongame is perfect for those looking to play between $5 & $200 games.

I have my gripes about Ongaming and do prefer Stars but the MTT's have a good structure here and the standard at the stakes I play is usually poor (except the community games). If you can't get a RB deal then go under a different skin, if you explain your case to BF they might just give you something.

I don't understand the Essence rakeback deal here but as I understand it, losing players will get a better deal than winning ones. An essence RB might even turn you into a profitable player.

One final thought, never play any games with a 20% rake, even on a RB deal. You will get nowhere fast and just keep churning over the rake to the site.

Bearing in mind stars has cheaper fees for both tourneys and stts, I would ignore rakeback and go there as you will effectively be better off than most sites with rakeback!

Thanks for the tips chaps. Poker Stars and here best, then.

You could try the January rake-free no tournament fees on Party Poker.
Look for the New Year offers - just like the gym. But do not tie yourself up to long-term offers that do not look good.

888 - full of donks from canada.  having said that, i live in oz so not sure if they're just drunk when i play them.  site isn't that busy, but a few decent tourneys with guarenteed prize funds that aren't too tough
