Could somebody tell me the best way i can take advantage of my 30% cake deal i have with Betfair please.I tend to play in  mtts mainly with not much cash action and sit n go's.I never seem to make much cake .Would i be better to play more cash or sit n go's to receive more cake rather than spending hours upon end in these mtts with little to show for it .Any advice would be greatly welcome.

obv the more cake u spend , the more u get back.

uearn cake quickest in cashgames, followed by stts and slowest in mtts.

ifuplay 4 10dollar turbos stts at once, ucan comfortable get 3 dollars back an hr.if u play 50/1 6 haNDED same 4 tables your cake willdepend on how many hands u actually parttake in, but if u loose /agg uwil lbeat this return. if u very tight/passive u woll get a sim9ilar amount.

Surely you should be looking at what type of game suits you best and is most profitable for you before you look at rakeback.

No point hammering cash/ SnGs if you don't enjoy it and don't make steady profits at it. You shouldn't be playing just for the rake unless you play a large volume of games. It should just be a bonus.

Thanks guys i will not only look at what game suits me but which site suits me because this one seems like 'bad beat central' tbh

You get a lot of bad beats on here because you get a lot of bad play, especially in the lower stakes games where players cant fold raggy aces or any 2 suited cards.

I find the early stages of MTTs on here life tilting, people shoving with marginal hands pre flop for 80+ bbs, and you seem to constantly have to be making daft decisions you wouldnt have to make in a proper game.

The only advice I can give is to try and see a lot of cheap flops WITH POSITION, where you should be able to outplay the donks, and when you make a big hand on the flop play it uber aggressively and dont give the donks the right odds to outdraw you. Oh, and avoid any MTT with the word REBUY in the title if you dont like bad beats. Happy

It's not just you, I think the site puts most of us on life tilt from time to time.

I forgot to address your query relating to rakeback. To be honest unless you intend to take the game up full time I wouldn't worry about it, and treat it as you have been as a little bonus every few weeks. Your primary focus should be to find a game and a level that you can consistently beat, and build your bankroll from there.

Once you have found that level you can start playing extra tables which will generate extra rakeback.

I'm on a 30% deal here and play on Stars. Think of rakeback as a bonus not as profit.

If you can, bury your rakeback as it arrives in a separate wallet like Games or Aussie wallets and let it mount up. I like Devilfish as they pay the rakeback into your main account while kept poker in a separate wallet. You could then keep playing and forget about it.

I managed to land 3rd prize in an mtt last night which made me a couple of hundred quid which makes a change Happy

Incidentally, I don't have a rakeback deal.  Is there anyway to get one added as I won't be able to make this my main site without it?

I'm not the greatest person to ask but i expect somebody like chipfire227 will most probably be able to answer your question failing that phone up the poker help desk

Your only hope of bypassing The Players Club and getting on a % rakeback deal would be through an affiliate I would imagine. The Klup would be the best person to speak to, this would almost certainly mean opening a brand new account with Betfair.

The Players Club, the high entrance fees for STT's, and rakeback generally, were all issues discussed at the Betfair Poker Q and A session myself and Thrappers attended today. Full notes to follow once minutes have been agreed. I think sites generally are trying to get away from rakeback, and plough more money into customer specific promotions, which distribute funds more evenly. Certainly those of us on ring fenced percentages rather than in the Players Club are getting the best of it at the moment in my opinion.

Thanks Chipfire227 for explaining that much appreciated and i look forward to reading 'the minutes' from the meeting Happy

Poor Thrappers had been up since 5 a.m. getting back to London from Prague for the meeting, and was last seen heading off in a cab for the 20:50 from Euston to Manchester, so I suspect will spend most of tomorrow sleeping.

I started typing some stuff up on the four hour journey back from Kings Cross but started nodding off at Peterborough. Once I've finished my version of events, he will add his comments, the Betfair Legal boys will give it the once over, and hopefully it should be up within a week.

We really pushed them to let us release some stats and stuff and I'm hopeful it will make more interesting reading than the last one.
