Betfair Question and Answer Session 2

I will deffo be raising the issue of why they are still with Ongame!

Time to jack it in I reckon.  They have tried over the years but the poker side of things has never been run as anything more than a sideline to the main site.  Helpful staff have come and gone and the same old problems still persist.

You have got the major issues and we would just like to see delivery of parts promised.

I just think that some of the basics are not there - some basic counting facilities from the software like the old BF.
I hate no waiting lists and limited searching facilities be it cash or on a selection on STTs or even the 30 player SnGos.
As for leaderboards/promos I'm really confused. And I'm not a noob.

I agree with AJ - as a sideline to a betting site it's not given a priority, though my experience of the live set up on the day was fine (though that may be because of where delivered, and the individuals involved). But that just means that I may look at those other small sites (bookmakers that do poker) and see what's on offer and experiment. May even find it is far more profitable and then end up leaving.

As I can't find any use for those points just wondered had they thought about using them to buy into tourneys or satellite's. That's pretty much what I'm using my FPPs on stars for.

There is actually nothing in it for us. We claim our travelling expenses i.e. we submit our train and tube receipts and get them refunded a couple of weeks later, but other than that there is no recompense. Unless you count the fact I got a free Diet-coke and Thrappers got a free hot chocolate to keep us going through the 5 hours of meetings we attened last time.

We both live in the North, and make 8 hour round trips in our own time to attend the sessions. I actually took unpaid leave to attend the last one.

Why do we do it ? Dunno, I guess we both started playing on BF a long time ago, still have sentimental reasons for liking the site, and rather than sit around moaning ( which we still do )thought we would actually try and get off our lazy backsides and make a difference.

Some things have improved, some things haven't. Like most huge outfits there are people within the organisation who are enthusiastic and quite dynamic and open to suggestions, and others who are in well paid, seemingly secure jobs, who dont like the idea of change because they think  things are quite nice as they are. 

Personally I thought I could represent other players and put forward ideas to improve things.  I left the first meeting feeling cautiously optimistic. I now feel pretty hacked off with things, and frankly let down. However I said I would give it 12 months and that is what I intend to do, but I certainly wont be going into this second session with any intention of listening to a load of horsesh1t and lame excuses for a failure to deliver. We actually deserve a lot better than the crap we are currently getting.

Agree with you about the expenses.

Though In all seriousness by the time you have sent off the receipts, someone has authorised them then done what needs to be done to transfer the money to your bank account, its pretty standard.

Be nice to get a few positive ideas  on the thread as well. As the community game has gone well, I thought we could maybe run one on a Sunday night with possibly some satelitte tickets to BF London Live up for grabs, as I know a lot of people would like to play that event.

I also like the idea of a staff vs punters 11 a side football match, followed by a team poker tournament, so we can kick their backsides twice-though in reality they would probably win both.

I remember when this forum was a good laugh and had some real good people on it! I use to really enjoy the community spirit that BF poker once had and it would be great to see that again but I can not see BF ever regaining the trust from the players that they once had.  Good luck though.

I agree with you annie on the hand history, everybody else seems to have a better one.

In terms of the add-on it does stay up till the rebuy is finished but it does not force the window forward when the add on period starts which I think would solve this problem.

I also agree that Betfair should leave ongame and find a better host but where we will disagree is you would think that is ipoker and as previously explained I seriously hate ipoker.

I said it earlier, I'd love Betfair to join the Merge network (although I know there's very little chance of that). Seriously though, if ppl liked the old Betfair software, you would simply love Merge

Please throw in a Vegas package for this points thing that lawslaw suggests - i have not been to vegas yet and its left a big hole in my heart!
