I've just logged into my account and noticed a message off Betfair saying i have a loyalty bonus, due to their technical issues the other night.I was in a torney and couldn't log into my account,i got dissconnected and it kept saying incorrect username. It's says $25,$100,or $500 bonus then something like every $5 blah blah pp????????? i only play occasionally so figure my best option would be the $25???i've had a few pints this afternoon so message wasn't sinking in any advice appreciated in advance thanks.

the more u play the bigger the bonus u should accept, otherwise u willnot  get as much value outta it.
Report kennysbackintown October 14, 2011 5:23 PM BST
Cheers Gnasher, would it be worth me opting for the bigger bonus and just playing more for 30 days?does it depend on how frequent i play or how big my stakes are?
Report gnashersblackpool October 14, 2011 5:40 PM BST
ive not been made a bonus offer, thou usually the more points u earn the quicker u clear the bonus.

u will need to lookat the terms and conditions and work out which u think u will clear.

if u play mtt/stts u earn 5 player points per 1 dollar in fee[ie a 10 dollar plus1 game earns u 5 pts.

Thanks again Gnasher for your help/info,just read the terms and conditions got it now and as usual betfair are offering us user's very littleLaugh

I got the email and tried to opt for the $25 offer by entering the code in the box under 'My Players Club'. I got an error message saying it could not be activated. I contacted BF who have asked me for a screen shot which I have sent them. I am not on Essence but still part of the old Befair RB deal, so maybe that has something to do with it?

i had same as you wykamist.. also on rb deal.. have not bothered to ring.. can you keep me posted please? thanks

Just heard back from the helpdesk. The matter has apparently been escalated to the 'poker team'. I think the more people who let them know they cannot activate the bonus the better - maybe they will come up with something instead like a ticket. If we don't accrue player points I don't see how its going to ever work for us.

Bonuses are there to reward the poker site and not you, unless you normally grind the stakes involved at a profit (or break even) then just enjoy the poker and don't worry about any bonuses. Poker sites know that the majority lose and will keep depositing just to release this cash.

BTW I doubt anyone on RB will get this.
Report GHADDAFFI. October 14, 2011 11:59 PM BST
anybody out there who had NO problem activating the bonus? you gotta laugh tho...they do it to comnpesate for being useless.. te make a mess of it
Report wykhamist2 October 15, 2011 12:39 AM BST
Personally I just wish they would abolish all bonuses and rakeback etc and just lower the rake percentage upfront. Would make things a damn sight simpler for everyone.

But if they send me an email, personally inviting me to do such and such as compensation for the site outage I thought I might as well. Frankly I was very dubious it would work, from previous experience. But it's better not to offer anything at all than wasting my time offering something that does not work.

you need to play a lot to get that in 30 days joker

Same here...I could not be bothered to wait for the 'poker team' to get back to me, so opted for the 100 bonus. Since I mainly play at $3 - $5 stakes SNG's I expect I will not get nearly enough points (if I knew what points were) but what the hell.
Report appollo October 15, 2011 11:32 PM BST
I'm on rb and had no problem registering for the 100 bonus. While the 25 bonus gives you a maximum bonus of $25, (750points for $25). I opted for the 100 despite not likely to earn the full bonus, I will still get $25 for 750 points with the 100 bonus, but for example if I get 900 points I will get $30 bonus, as  you get $5 for every 150 points.
Report GHADDAFFI. October 15, 2011 11:49 PM BST
well spotted apollo.. I was almost fooled to believe that you have to get the full 3000 pp to get anything. I just opted in for the 100 without problem while the " poker team " is having a relaxing weekend off and come back on monday to tell me sorry you could not opt in for the $25 bonus, but we have good news for you, the deadline was sunday night, so no bonus for you colonel!

2 weeks have gone by and needless to say no response from that elusive 'poker team'. Yet another example of appalling customer service!
Report NickFiickTheOriginal October 29, 2011 11:48 PM BST
I have given up on mine. Though wykh I thought you had given up on here anyway.
I do not know why they bother to send e-mails and messages to you and they don't work or do not apply to you.
Pretty baffling when sometimes it comes up with something to opt into and then tells you already registered when cannot remember doing so.
Must admit this particular one baffled me at the time and baffled them too on the phone.
Report wykhamist2 October 29, 2011 11:52 PM BST
Yes its true that I don't play here or anywhere else any more. But I was just annoyed that they promised they would get back to me then never did. If Chipfire is looking to make up a list of examples of failed customer service then he can use it maybe.
Report chipfire227 October 30, 2011 8:40 PM GMT
I've already added it to an ever growing list. Quite looking forward to the  next Q and A session. Have a feeling HF is going to have some fun with the Helpdesk fella, who reckoned they didnt have any issues not being resolved to the customers satisfaction. Laugh
