GSOP Live Greece Chip Counts

I salavating just looking at all those Greek players!

Im beginning to worry about you wonky. There is not even one womans name on that list! [:o]

It’s our second day in Greece and I thought it was about time I gave everyone an update.

First of all, thank you PrManager for getting this thread going and putting up the chip counts from yesterday, needless to say it would not have happened if left to me. In all fairness to me though, the main event was actually split into two starting days and all the Betfair players started today. All but one, James Keys, who, quite impressively, came out ahead of the field. Let’s hope he continues to run good throughout the tournament!

Yesterday we also had the GSOP welcome party in a bar in the resort called the Purple Lounge. The party was good fun and everyone was pleasantly amused by the surprise entertainment in the form of belly dancers. I got a couple of pics of the dancers which I’ll add to this thread but they did move so stealthily making them quite hard to capture. All in all, I think everyone enjoyed the evening and from what I hear the party went on till quite late. I called it a night at 2am (not my usual style) but I was properly exhausted and it seemed to be quite dangerous when the Jaeger trays started coming out.

Despite last night’s antics, the 21 players, making up Team Betfair showed up to the tourney punctually today and I must say everyone looks to be in good shape. I am confident Team Betfair is in for a good run but it’s a long way to go with a total of 345 players competing for a part of the whopping $517,500 in the prize pool. So fingers crossed for Team Betfair!

I am sad to report that none of Team Betfair made it through to Day 3. If you are interested in hearing how these players went out than post a reply on this thread and we will get the details on here. Otherwise, I will refrain from writing about Poker hands because my inability to put a quirky twist on Poker hands makes it very boring to read.

The weather has taken a turn for the worse over here and our beautiful beach side resort is looking a little miserable with grey skies and rain this morning. Hopefully, the sun will be out soon for everyone to enjoy, now that the main event is over for Betfair.

Tonight we will be making our first trip to the local village for a traditional Greek meal, followed by some drinks. Should be good fun!! watch this space for pics of the night
