you're online and too ignorant to give me an answer, suppose i shouldnt expect anything less!
Report GrandTilt October 4, 2011 4:43 PM BST
jc30 consider this a verbal warning. I have this thread open all day and look after our sports, casino, poker and arcade product across  30+ countries - this keeps me quite busy!! I contribute to this thread because I want to not because I have to.  Ignorance implies a lack of knowledge about our RNG. I have thoroughly researched this topic having worked in the industry for nearly 10 years. I have spoken to the people who design it, the methods they use  and checked the authenticity of the results.

It is one of the biggest concerns in the game and something our HelpDesk still get calls on.
I posted a very good article the other day which tested all the major sites over 1 million hands.
I also have the independent RNG certificate for our site this month.

I am sorry that I cannot convince you that our RNG is true. We will have to agree to disagree on this topic.

U can give me all the warnings under the sun, in fact u can completely ban me from here and do me a favour. I myself have worked in the betting industry for nearly 9 years and i can guarantee there is no such thing as a 'RANDOM' number generator, end of.
Report GrandTilt October 4, 2011 4:56 PM BST
What did the gambling companies you worked for use instead of a Random Number Generator?

Keith ... grab the popcorn, I got us front row seats - this could get intresting!
Report jc30 October 4, 2011 5:02 PM BST
Oh, they like urself harp on about its 100% random, even though there is nothing that sofisticated in the world that can truly provide a 'random' number
Report GrandTilt October 4, 2011 5:11 PM BST
You are correct there is no such thing as truly random.

It is pseudo-random (PSNG) which means that to crack it would take years (as opposed to RNG which technically could never be calculated) For our purposes (casino /arcade and poker) this is more than sufficient as no-one could work it out quick enough to influence the result of a game. What you are implying is different. You are implying that as one operator on a European wide Network we have influence over the results of the cards you get. This would also imply that we have managed to create software so advanced that we can crack the Ongame RNG  and THEN that we use this information to make our players lose!! As with most conspiracy theories your logic is flawed.
Report The Klup October 4, 2011 5:15 PM BST
lets for a moment, one tiny moment assume it is totally as you think - and it is not random ... - how could this possibly matter?

I agree, some hands produce amazing drama - but i see it absolutely every time i play live. In a %'ages game, how can you not possibly expect to see big hands crushed?

I can tell you a whole bunch of bad beats from years gone by, but there are only two hands I can remember where i ever sucked out on people. We only remember what we choose to.

For every badbeat there is a suck out ...

I stated Ongame was r1gged not Betfair, jesus. And your a Betfair representative, so how the hell would u know exactly what goes on behind the scenes with Ongames software programmers and the head of Ongame?
Report gnashersblackpool October 4, 2011 6:07 PM BST
just wondering bfpoker pr,will u be makin an appearance at either of the betfair days at the loose cannon club?
Report GrandTilt October 4, 2011 6:09 PM BST
Haven't decided if I am going to loose cannon yet but if I do we should have a drink.

We can flip a coin to decide who pays....providing that is random enough for you ;-)

Hmmm, just as i thought, no answer to the question i asked. Thats simply because you dont know what goes on at Ongame but tbf, i know your only doing what you get paid to do. When you personally Mr BetfairPR can guarantee me beyond all doubt that Ongames software is totally above board and provide a reason as to why the head of Ongame stated that the site 'caters for the fish', then i will return and apologise.

What are you hoping to achieve here jc ? If you dont trust a game, be it live or online, then dont play it. If you dont trust a network, then dont play on it.

For months you have been making the same point over and over and over again. Are you seriously expecting BF or Ongame to admit the whole thing is R133ed ?

Yr starting to sound like the betting shop punter that blames every losing horse racing bet on the jockeys being crooked, yet continues to bet on every race.
Report jc30 October 4, 2011 7:34 PM BST
Chipfire, ill simply say i do not believe Ongame software is trustworthy. Secondly the reason this all started was because a thread got removed for no apparent reason. Thirdly, before you or anyone thinks its just a losing player whining, ill give you my poker aliases for other sites to prove im a winning cash game player and lastly i dont punt in betting shops, i manage them.

Oh and btw, i did state i hadnt played on here for ages but today i thought i'd have a go (dont ask me why) and in the small amount of hands i played, the amount of set-ups was ridiculous. I now simply wont ever in a million years play at Ongame. Thank you and goodnight, im off to play Live poker [;)]

BFPR, I asked a question on 29th March (and I'll probably ask it again when Niall W and Tony the Techno have their next Q&A sess) regarding Betfair Poker taking advantage of the currency fluctuations, during the 3 day site outage of 17th-19th Jan, in order to pocket a handy little percentage of the funds trapped in the malfunctioning site.

Some of the people here now worked extreme hours for a long time to resolve the issue.
I can categorically tell you that no "snide" profit was made from that outage!
In fact it was the exact opposite.

I left a pm with one of the complainants, mikko, that day but didn't hear anything until last week. Can't think of any reason why somebody would send a pm, 6 months after the fact, unless it was 100% accurate.

From Daryl Revok on Mar 29, 10:24PM:
Hey Mikko

Did you ever get paid at the right rate, after all this time?

The subject came up on the Q + A thread on the forum, tonight. Good luck.

RE: Funds returned at wrong exchange rate
Sep 25, 12:49PM

Hi!

After I had drawn all my money from Betfair and stopped playing, I got a phone call from Betfair's Finland department. I told them about the situation, they investigated it and recovered my losses. In total, it took a few months, several emails and a couple of phone calls to get it done.

-Mikko

So did mikko get refunded for the difference in exchange rates, was it a problem exclusive to him or is anybody/everybody (with money trapped during 17-19Jan) else entitled to a refund?
