any hints as to how one goes about being invited to one of these things?

in various guises i been a betfair player for most of my poker life, approx 8 years now, been to as many BFWOPs as my military life would let me, put a few players into the betfair books, and yet NEVER had an invite for anything

Ive got an invite for the very first time, after playing over 25,000 stts on the site. I assume it's because I have Masters status in the Players Club, which entitles you to one a year.

It's costing me £90 for the train, and £65 for a hotel, so in all honesty there would be more value in buying into a decent live event up here where I wouldnt need an overnight stay and I was in with a shout of winning a big payout.

To be honest my only real motivation in going is to provide an excuse not to go to Scunthorpe that day, one of my least favourite football grounds.

Sometimes it's easier for me in NI to catch a flight than it is for some of those train fares and I get there quicker.

I havent played 25k in a year, no, thats probably over 4 years, but it still means I've handed over more than 25k in rake, which was bound to mean I got invited to something eventually.

In fairness I'm sure they offered some spots on the forum to some live event (possibly in Scotland )last year , but the cost of going put me off.

Like I said travel and accomodation works out at over £150, so it's not really a freeroll for me, but it will be nice to finally meet a few people off here. With only one guest allowed though I'm wondering which girlfriend to bring with me.
