We have lost our first player

A couple of hands later poor Maxime DeMare is out he shoves with AT is called by by Daniel Guiney with KJ.

A ten on the flop but the King on the turn seals his fate and he is out 18th.

Adam Treanor knocks out Geoffrey Berthier.

geoffrey shoves with 44 and Adam in the BB is priced in to call with 5h6h and no 5's or 6's come but three hearts do for the flush and Geoffrey is out 17th.

Now here is a piece of information you probably wont have heard from Helmuthian Folds ... Please brace yourself as this nearly happened exactly as i am describing it to you!

I had gone out on the lash last night with a few of the poker lads. In true klup fashion the alcohol was flowing and we were having a great time. What I did not realise however, is that when it comes to consuming copious amounts of alcohol, Helmuthian Folds falls into the category of "Epic Fail".

Anyways, the night was long - we partied hard and despite half the group being worse for wear, we were having a great time. When the clubs closed, we posted HF into a cab in the early hours to send him back to his hotel.

This morning however, i received a call at 6.30 asking me to come get my friend from the Garda, where Helmuthian apparently spent the night. Still hungover and half asleep, i was rather surprised as I thought Helmuthian was staying at hotel Murphy's. It did cross my mind though, that given the drunken state he was in, there was a good chance he never made it to the hotel and probably went to the wrong place. There was no doubt in my mind, he ****ed up the cab ride and checked in to the wrong hotel.

Anyways, feeling guilty and a bit battered myself, i dashed off at super speed to go rescue my mate. I jumped in the cab and asked him to drive me to Hotel Garda. The cabbie was confused, and told me he didnt know a hotel garda, but would take me to The Garda where apparently they have a lot of beds but is usually swarming with some unsavioury types. Where else would Helmuthian be right??

On my arrival I was very impressed by front of the hotel (as you can see from the photo) but was quite shocked to see a swarm of police cars and men all around. I feared badly for HF and dashed inside wondering what the hell had happened.

I asked the staff at reception where Dave Deadwood was and they said they would get him for me but first i had to pay £80.

There i am thinking that Dave obviously was too drunk, had his money lost or stolen and needed me to pay his bill.

I paid the £80 ... but guess, just guess what the receipt

Sadri Mokni seems to be bullying a lot on table 1 even though he is probably only the 3rd biggest stack.

He is claiming a lot of orphan pots!

And sure enough 2 hands after I post this Sadri eliminates Thomas Nolan in a 150k+ pot when his lopped set of Jacks gets called on the turn by Toms open ended straight and flush draw but the river didnt improve him and Tom exits in 12th.

Tom would not let us take his picture but with handsome chaps like me and Matt about maybe he though he wouldn't compare favourably!  [;)][;)]

It's as well I didn't go as my 14 year old got out of bed too quick, banged his head and had a mini fit. Just spent the last 3 hours in casualty. Everything is fine with him but we near shat ourselves when it happened.

Back after the dinner break and we have had two all ins in the first two hands......unfortunately Thomas didn't fancy it either time. Once he had suited connectors and the other time he had Ace rag suited.

How's the side game going and how many from 1st day stayed for final day?

Daniel Guiney goes out in 6th and gets 1330 euro after his A7 was beaten by Janos holding AK with the board improving neither hand.

Janos's stack is now dwarfing everyone elses and he certainly is using his stack to his advantage being easily the most active player at the table.

Janos takes down another 120k pot after Adam bets into him three times but Janos reraises the river and its an instafold from Adam and Janos shows a flopped set of 8's.

And then last hand before a 10 minute break Janos pushes Sandri off a 70k+ pot.

good work thrappers. Just got back and had a fun weekend and met some great ppl! Thanks to all the betfair guys for the hospitality :) Just a shame i have no patience whatsoever :)

Janos keeps up his bully boy tactics with only Sandri seeming to be willing to put up any resistance.

Janos now has over 600k of the 1,080,000 in play.

Betfair Fran looks nice, can you make sure she goes to the BF Masters in London on Nov 19th.

He shoves from SB with K4 sooted and gets called by 66 from Adam and no king or diamonds arrive and Adam exits.

Next Hand Janos takes out Sandri when his A2 spikes a 2 on the flop against sandri's AJ.

Sandri takes offence to Janos saying sorry but also 2,390 euro for his efforts.

We are now heads up as Adam slow plays a flopped straight and instacalls Darius's shove on the turn.

Darius takes home a healthy 3,720 euro for his efforts.

And Janos Jeszek takes down Betfair Live Dublin when his KQ on a Queen high board holds againsy Adams Q9 although both had staright draws neither improved.

Janos takes home 9,370 euro and Adam 5,590 Euro.

I have to say a most deserving winner who dominated the final table and in the end from 5 players downwards the others were playing for second place.

Betfair may not be perfect but their live events are always a joy to attend with plenty of giveaways, free bar, parties etc.

No-one does the live experience better and I personally reccommend that everyone should try and qualify for Costa Brava as that promises to be an absolute cracker.

Sat in the departure lounge at Dublin airport with a luxury hot chocolate Sunday.

I had never been to Dublin before and I have to say it is a wonderful city, the people are warm and friendly and the nightlife is fantastic even if I did over indulge slightly on the Saturday night.  Is the vodka stronger in Ireland?

My thanks to all the Betfair team for making me feel a part of the team and making it a great experience for everyone who attended.

Really enjoyable weekend. Everything I expected and hoped for and then some.

Over and above the obvious good time with those I know well (HF, Eachie + his BOSS, 2dogs, spackman et al) and the superb Betfair crew,  I ran into some of the Finnish lads I randomly had partied with in Tallinn which brought back more quality memories. Met 'The MATT' (his ear pictured somewhere in this thread), and a couple more Greek Betfair regs, a group of Frenchie's who were top blokes, but the cherry on the cake was definitely getting to meet the one and only El Pepe!

Regarding Ireland -  take your pick from any or all of these choice words: smashing, awesome, fantastic, festive!

Gutted to be missing Costa Bravo, but Betfair Live London in February is already in my calendar!

how come these live events appear to be top drawer stuff, yet the issues with the site, and how the help desc etc deal with them are sub basement?

would love to do a live event, but i think i'm not alone in saying that the online side of things is in the least favourite poker site department.
