This is just one of the many examples of how bad play is rewarded on this Site! It is happening too often and it's sickening!!

How in Gods name can anyone with any clue at all about playing Poker, go all in with the 2s & 4s ?

What makes it worse is these kind of bad beats seem to be prevelent on this Site and it just seems to go on and on!!

Just before this happened, in the space of about 20 minutes, a pair of Kings all in pre-flop had already lost twice, so it looks like the curse of the Pair of Kings continues.

So much for RNG, it is non existant on this Site and BAD PLAY continues to be rewarded.

Thats why you get so called 'Poker Players' going all in on any 2 Cards, as they are being rewarded!!

Its because of these very players we like to play on here. Dont you want to get it all in all day long if its 4/1 in your favour?
Report jc30 September 17, 2011 12:56 AM BST
@ the klup...... yes u do want to get it all day long against these idiots but ive been playing long enough and played most sites to know that there is definately something not right about Ongames RNG. I havent played on here now for months, i play at Stars. I think deep down klup, you dont think its 100% above board here, do u?

@ HF "The most ridiculous run of beats I have suffered was on Pokerstars so make what you want of that"

Do you still play there? And if not, why?
Report Helmuthian Folds September 17, 2011 1:15 AM BST
I play everywhere JC and am winning on most including stars.

I have had bad and good runs everywhere I have played with Stars being the most brutal run I have had and when its happening I have felt its all fixed yet when I have had good runs I felt I deserved it!

Do you see what i'm getting at?

Like yourself, im a winning player at every site ive played at/on albeit not life changing amounts, with Betfair being at the bottom of my profit scale. Perhaps thats why i question the Ongame RNG as opposed to other sites, cos im not winning on here like i am on the others. Maybe its just me, suppose i cant win em all eh Blush

You only remember the badbeats and forget the times ur hand holds up, this is because it is human nature, once you overcome this and look at things rationally you may become a better player.

When you see the patterns then YOU are the problem. The RNG is just as random for everyone, it's what you do with the hands that you get that counts. Try watching the shown hands on Stars or the poker channel late at night to see the shyyte and monsters that get dealt in each round of betting. I pushed AKs UTG in a live game before and was called by AA, KK, JJ and 99 and the 99 won (I tell that hand differently every time but I remember AKs v AA v KK another 2 high pair, I shoved AKs short stacked)

@ HF,

I understand where your coming from, but I am not one of those players who goes on the chat box and complains about bad beat because I know that s..t happens in poker as indeed it does in life and anyway it's a total waste of time!!

But when you've had 6 consecutive bad bad beats, then you begin to doubt and wonder as to what the hell is going on!!

You begin to ask is it the RNG or is it the fact that Players are no longer afraid to go all in on any hand no matter what stage the Game is at, because they have been rewarded before for bad play?

If they are no longer afraid to go all in with any 2 Cards, well then they are either total idiots or have had success doing it and believe me, I am beginning to believe that it is the latter reason!

I was all in with A's against Js& 9c..What happens?? J & 9 Flops a straight!
I was all in, in the Community Game, As Ks against Ah 9c.. He flops a straight!!
I was all in As Ah versus Qs Qd,.....He flops the Qh, and I draw dead.
I was all in with A's against K's and he flops a K and I draw dead.
I was all in A K against A 5, He fops a 5 and I draw dead.

There is more, believe it or not, so I don't have too many wins, when I was all in to fall back on, certainly not in the last week anyway, so you can understand why I posted here. Also, I am not a liar, so what I have posted is factual!!

So it has to be a combination of the RNG and the fact that  that so called 'Poker Players' are reaping the rewards for showing no fear, that is bringing about these consecutive bad beats, all in the space of a week!!!
If these is not the reasons, then I am one unlucky player!!

Regards to all.

@ Helmuthian Folds

As far as I know mate, you have only ever had one bad run at poker. Not sure how long it lasted for you, all i know is it started in 2002 and is still ongoing! [;)]

The 'dodgy' software debate always trundles on but never really ends does it?

Personally I think this is because neither side of the argument can win. Yes, it's not likely that sites are ****/dodgy etc and it's easy to see a pattern when it happens through random runs of events.

On the other hand, there have been dodgy poker sites - AbsolutePoker for example. Plus, it is not 'impossible' that sites could be dodgy, whatever anyone may argue.

Stu,

Yes Absolute was dodgy but not in term of r1gged cards that was a superuser who could see everyones hole cards which is entirely different.

He clearly hasnt a clue about poker, which is immediately apparent if you take 2 minutes to check his stats on Sharkscope.

There used to be an "any 2 suited" hand of the day thread on here, simply because of the number of sports book punters playing any 2 suited cards in stts and mtts.Presumably its a low statkes rebuy and the guy is just shoving any 2 suited or any hand containing an ace to try and double up ?

Excessive bad play equates to more bad beats, thats how it goes on a site stuffed with degenerate gamblers.

@JC

What could possibly not be above board? I've played on most sites except for stars. Large volume on full tilt,PKR, ipoker and entraction. Its been the same everywhere I've played.

First hand ever on sky poker, I'm holding 99, flop AA9, turn 9!

In all honesty, i have seen the exact same live nearly everytime I've played.  Some amazing beats 99 vs AJ o/s all in on a Q92 rainbow - turn / river K,10.

One time I was dealer and saw a guy three times inside an hour - crack sets with two undercards, only to see him go out with KK on a K high flop.

Of course we all see certain patterns - we look for bad beat stories because thats what we talk about, its hpw we justify our exit from games - we see it because we look for it.
Report The Klup September 18, 2011 3:18 AM BST
Let's also not forget, now that we hardly ever see any overlay at all on Ongame, most of the so called "winning players" are no longer doing that - because now they have to beat 300-1000 players as opposed to the 50-200 we used to come up against.

The  marginal winners won mainly because of all the overlay the old Betfair had. Now from a pond they find themselves in the sea and have all been cut to size (me included).

True, but just an example that implicit trust that all is always fair and level can still be misguided, as it was in this case. I'm sure we've all played that certain opponent who beat us so badly that we've felt suspicious about them. Obviously, in most cases this is just our own anger/jealousy etc. But there would have been people done in the past, who felt exactly the same...and were right! I suppose it's far less likely that large scale cheating (e.g. a whole network) goes on in most cases which is why it's usually laughable when people blame the RNG/software.

Of course, we haven't mentioned the 'juicing' debate which is a natural follow-on from the deliberately r1gd in favour of a player debate...
