So I've just made master level and I'm starting to think about giving up my rakeback. Has anyone else done this? and if so, what point did you decide to do so, or when would you if you me??

Also, for the people who are master and grandmaster levels, what is the annual live event? and when do they take you??

Are there any other perks being on these levels??

Thanks for any info

if u cake 1500 dollars everymonth surely a 40% cake deal is miles better thananything the player club offers, even at the top level
Report McCoy Carp August 25, 2011 4:44 PM BST
Whether it is, or whether it isn't, you have to obtain a minimum amount of points every month in order to maintain or better your current level. With rakeback, I think, regardless of little or how much you play the cake is still the same.

According to the blurb the benefits are released through the course of a year, but it doesn't say whether this is a calendar year, or a year after you reached your current level etc etc. I had a bad rakeback deal and I switched, but I've hardly played this month since an argument on another thread with BetfairPokerPR, so I assume I will be dropping back a level (or more), and will be back to where I started. But as with a lot of players and forumnites, I've gone past caring now.

rakeback is better

You don't have to wait to Thursday's to redeem your money when you want though.

Thanks for some of the replys.

I think I'll keep my rakeback - I'm actually on 30% (for the person that mentioned 40%) so I will prob wait a couple of months to see if I continue playing here on the volume I do at the moment - if redeeming cash vouchers is more than my rakeback, I will switch.

I just wanted to know about the annual event (ie what it is) and if there are any other perks (I know from another site I have been taken out etc, just wondered if its the same here?) Is any of you forumites on these levels that could give me some more info? - Thanks again

Is there noone on the forum that is master or GM and can give me any info on this?

When I contacted Entraction (different network) about this, there very helpful customer support advised me that there is a level where rakeback becomes less valuable to a player. I tried to dig up the email they sent me but I've deleted it. I would imagine Betfair/ Ongaming would be similar. All I can suggest is sending an email to customer support in the hope that you get a reply (unlikely). You should also ask for a better rakeback deal - if you don't ask you won't get.

They won't give you a better rakeback deal.
Report chipfire227 August 27, 2011 11:25 PM BST
yoyo I think you will find the majority of people on the forum are on a rakeback deal, and are not in a position to advise you about the offline event or vip merchandise.I will certainly ask and get back to you within a few days.

Like you I am on 30% rakeback and with over 19,000 points could switch to master, but have never really seen the incentive to switch, especially as you cant switch back if it works out worse.

Do you know something we don't Chip? Would it not be the easiest thing for BFPoker Manager to reply on this thread and explain it all?

What merchandise we get and when? What offline event we get invited to and when? How long do we have to keep our current levels to get the rewards shown? What is better? Being on a 30% rakeback deal or switching to the loyalty scheme?

Whilst the tone of McCoy's post may not elicit a response (!), his question is very valid. Like another poster I'm on a 30% deal but would be very interested to know how this would compare to Master level. I understand that it's not directly comparable but a bit more info would be great. Even if it were as vague as "a player turning over x amount a month and winning / losing y amount would be better off on the loyalty scheme". From previous posts it sounds like a losing player would likely be better off on r@ke, whilst a winner better on loyalty?

Thanks

Guys

Rakeback is definitely the best option. You are only earning 40% valueback when raking close to $5K a month as there are all these boosters.

You become master at 14,000 player points but you are not earning 27% (which is the master level) on the base - you only earn that when at the top of master level - so must be earning 54,000 + points PER annum.

20,000 Player Points: Booster of 250 Store Points per 1,000 Player Points
27,000 Player Points: Booster of 500 Store Points per 1,000 Player Points
34,000 Player Points: Booster of 750 Store Points per 1,000 Player Points
40,000 Player Points: Booster of 1,000 Store Points per 1,000 Player Points
47,000 Player Points: Booster of 1,250 Store Points per 1,000 Player Points
54,000 Player Points: Booster of 1,750 Store Points per 1,000 Player Points

54,000 at cash game is about $16,000 rake (per annum if one uses 3.25 pts per $1 raked). It is $10,800 rake on STT / MTT.

HOWEVER - on valueback you get all the extra benefits as well - so depending on what you like, this might be a better option for you.

SO if you are on a 30% ONLY deal and rake $1.5 K a month (and will do so regularly enough to maintain the top of the master level) then it is probably loyalty club for you.

If you on a 30-40% deal
To get 40% on the player club you need to earn 242,000 points per annum which = $74,000 rake on cash or $48,400 at MTT cash.

So if you rake $4K ish a month on the MTT/STT - it makes sense to be on valueback as you get the extra perks that dont always come with 40% rakeback.

Use this page and divide your total points by either 3.25 (cash) or 5 on Mtt -  http://poker.betfair.com/loyalty/loyalty_levels.php

To work out monthly requirements divide that by 12 OBViously.

I dont think there is a definitive generic answer, because everyone is different. The $5000 in monthly freerolls are no use to you if you cant play them when they are on due to other work committments.Obviously if you win one of them yr laughing.

Likewise the annual VIP event may not be any good to you if its held in London and you live in Inverness, likewise I seem to recall one last year running in Scotland which might not be ideal for someone living in Cornwall.

For STT and MTT players I believe the 30-40% rakeback deals are well in advance of anything the Players Club can provide, the only possible benefit to switching would be that you can convert your points to cash as soon as you accrue enough, wheras rakeback only gets paid twice a month.

Do I know something you dont know ? I know a couple of people who have played VIP events and might have some info about the whens and wherefores. And if I was being pedantic I'd say the only way to get player specific information was to go through the Helpdesk, though obviously I'd probably have sufficent faith to trust the judgement of Klup and gnasher.

Great replies Klup and Chip - exactly what this forum should be about.

Thank you both.

The "sling your hook" bit was bit strong, I apologise for that.

McCoy i know you and PR had a run in the other week, but dont cut off your nose to spite your face mate. I finally got a response to my collusion allegation a couple of weeks ago. Suffice to say the reply I finally got was not the one I was looking for and nearly resulted  in my laptop going through the window. Despite this I still play here from time to time because I make money on this site, and at the end of the day, thats important to me.

FWIW, now I've met PR I think he is okay, and is genuinely trying to make things better. The problem as I see it is that the whole organisation is so big, and theres so many fellas with their fingers in the pie, it's very difficult for one person to sort all the issues out. Especially  when some of the pie finger blokes are set in their ways and dont think theres a problem.

Some great replies in this thread all of a sudden.

Thanks for the math Kulp - very, very helpful and interesting.

Also thanks for some insight Chip - if you could speak to your friends that have been to the offline event that would be a big help to see if and when there would be a point that I might consider switching taking into account also the "perks"

Thanks again guys

yoyo, I spoke to Betfair on your behalf and they advised the MTT'S vary dependent on whether you are at Master or Grand Master. They said if you contacted the Helpdesk they should be able to give you information about the events at master level which I understand are played exclusively by Betfair players at invite only events.
