Ive got to page 30 ,can anyone summarise the whole thing
blatch should have his knackers cut off from what Ive read so far ,did Arb know when he brought the korea game into it? or was that just used to get it into the open . thank fook it has stopped how much more would he have done ? very sad, but fook me some parts are amusing ![]() there is one born every minute ![]() |

nothing special, the classic 'he's p1ssed our money up the wall' (read first 30 odd pages lol)
so far arbboy has come out of nowhere (dunno how he got interested in it in the first place) and started to ask totally legit questions about Neil Blatchley aka Blatch, who some people on this blondepoker forum had staked, apparently about 80k to do trading on betfair. he spunked a lot of it by sleeping in on an early kick off for liverpool vs stoke, think he layed liverpool and they were a few goals up by the time he got out of bed. that was for 20% of the fund... apparently did similar thing with another match where he somehow 'forgot' to trade out. seems like a degenerate gambler to me. now he's been outed (dunno how exactly) and arbboy has been vindicated...seems very weird how they kept blindly defending blatch in response to arbboy's perfectly logical posts |

throughout the day I've managed to read the whole thing, its not pleasant reading...
cliff notes: - thread started re trading football on bf, blatch asks if ppl want to get involved - blatch at the time well respected on blonde, so gets about 40 ppl with sums ranging from 200-10k - posts results and everyone v happy as it seems they are winning - questions start to get asked when requested withdrawals are not forthcoming - blatch admits the whole lot is gone, catalyst was him falling asleep before he could lay off pre match last year - more questions are asked, and now it appears some money may have been siphoned off to other accounts, and the sleeping in story almost certainly never happened - search online reveals an IVA from 07 under his name - blatch has promised to pay everyone back, but only has a small car to his name & has moved back home with the folks so basically the original motives are unknown, maybe it started with the best of intentions or maybe it was a scam from day 1. however it started, it ended with him living the balla lifestyle on other ppl's money, including a 5* trip to florida. there is also a separate issue of ppl staking him for vegas this year to the tune of about 14k, which has also gone the same way. |

jeez what a depressing read. he was on my table in an apat league game as recently as last sunday, with a few of his hangers on hero-worshipping him via chat.
fair play to arbboy for being his usual arsey repetitive self and sowing the seeds of doubt. unbelievable so many people would willingly hand over wads of cash to a gambler to bet on football, and eventually every other sport under the sun. as arb says you dont have to be einstein to know that very, very, few make that game pay, and the ones that do are incredibly knowledgeable about the markets. this guy was simply punting with other peoples money. unreal. ![]() |

some sick comments on the staking thread
Full grimming quota yet to be finalised ... after all I have a full season to decide Hey all, Am currently in a Denny's on free wi fi in Florida. Place is amazing and loving but sadly cant get on betfair as the VPN isnt working here so sadly trading is taking break for 2 weeks. On the plus I would like to thank you on behalf of my entire family. We couldnt have guessed just how far 75k would have stretched over here. All the upgrades from car rental, hotel and front of the queue passes are awesome. Thanks all. |

has someone not fronted him up yet?
wonder if it was always his intention to skim off the top originally or just something he got tempted to do as it went on? |
|
By:
ps : not very "balla" eating in "Dennys" it's the US equivalent of our "little chef " ;)

people in contact with him
dunno if it was meant to be a scam from the start tho it appears he invented about 20 straight winning trades to begin with which helped get all the investment roll was only around 3K at start and became 80 odd which he seems to have used to fund his lifestyle i just can't get my head round no screenshots for an entire season and people were just happy to throw cash at him |

Cliffnotes: 1) Neil Blatchly a.k.a Blatch is a popular and well known UK Poker Player and very popular on the Blonde forum and is known as a high limit sports trader on Betfair 2) He somehow manages to amass a trading bankroll of 60-70K from over 40 investors, 3 of which are high roller UK Poker Players and invest 10k each. He has everyones implicit trust. 3) He does well from August to January and is upto 85K. 4) He keeps on doing well for the rest of the seasom making small profits and some small losses start creeping in but the investors are still delighted, hey its better than money in the bank. 5) He says he will keep this going into the World Cup if people wish but some people object and request their shares. He delays these people several times so suspicions at last start to arise. 6) A poster calls Arbboy registers on the Blonde forum and wonders why everyone trusts this guy so much and launches an attack on him calling him out to prove all his wins and account balance by posting screenshots etc. 7) Blatch comes out and claims he lost the full bankroll on the Liverpool v Stoke game in January by falling asleep pre match. All the trades hes made since then are make believe. He claims the reason for continuing to lie for months and months is because he was trying to make the money back so no one would know about it. But the worst bit is that in April he made a staking thread for staking for the World Series of Poker and managed to get 14K from various people. It is assumed he used this money to try and win back the 80K.. Cool In April/May he took his family ona trip of a lifetime to Florida and Miami where they stayed in a 5* hotel and he kept posting on his facebook about how brilliant and posh his trip was. 9) Now everyone knows the money is long gone and its come out that he didnt lose it on Liverpool v Stoke at all, he lost it being a degenerate gambler, betting on roullette and horse racing and the likes. 10) He claims he is moving back in with his parents (hes 28) and selling his fiesta and getting a job and plans to pay everyone back eventually. 11) People are devastated. They want to get the police involved, some have lost their savings, some cant go on holiday this summer because of it. |

if he did have an IVA in 2007,it explains a lot.
rather than being the successful pro he claims to be he is simply yet another compulsive gambler and con man. the problem with these IVA's is they allow people to build up huge debts to banks and credit card companies to fund a gamling lifestyle, then pretty much write a huge chunk of it off. then start from scratch. at this point ( 2007 ) he should have realised he needed help and got it. he didnt, and as he had exhausted the normal avenues of getting credit to fund his gambling, he has decided to fleece his mates and numerous people daft enough to hand him cash on trust. like most degenerate gamblers i've no doubt this fella genuinely believed he would make a profit when he started, though his life experience should have told him otherwise. people are saying he will do jail time but im not so sure. while he has lied about what he was backing and the amounts, the bottom line is that people gave him money to gamble and that is what he has done. it isn't like they have given him money to invest in property or to buy greyhounds, they literally handed him cash to bet on football, a sphere where its notoriously difficult to make a profit without inside information on where the money is going to go. this bloke will no doubt go into hiding, get a job, start again, and in 2 years time when the IVA runs out go back to fleecing banks and credit card companies. i very much doubt he will quit gambling. i've lost two good friends and a fair few quid i lent them to compulsive gambling. i imagine most of us on here have. i can see why people want to give him a kicking, but the guy needs professional psychiatric help. |

Thanks for the posts ROFL/SOC - can understand it now :-).
|
|
By:
dunno how he got the iva with no job as you need proof of proper income
and the 14K he got for the wsop staking was a fraud defo plus i don't think the gambling pot can all be explained as being gambled away and some was laundered backing 1.01s |
|
By:
i'm guessing the stuff about just bought a house with the 35K tourny win was a complete lie
that was the excuse he gave for needing poker staking but why did he need a win like that not to be skint anyway! funny thing is tho he used the house excuse on a punterslounge thread in 2008 and i'm sure he used the same one on a staking thread on here maybe the back end of last year |

thing is that it seems that he spent a fair bit of the cash funding his own lifestyle...if so then surely legal avenue is open.
also there seems to be more than a hint of PONZI scheme in this - he's asked for more clients when already bankrupt. pretty sure he had something like that in mind tbh |

Easy to get help and has been for a good few years now with bookmakers and etc having to fund GamCare. Sad that somebody should do this but as chipfire says we've probably all been let down by somebody through their gambling.
|
|
By:
also it seems like Blatch has been a moderately successful poker player, winning $100k in one event...if he has no assets barring a fiesta then he really has pissed it up the wall on coke and hookers

Linux, I saw the cricket trades too, I can't believe he was able to back at 1.01 to be honest. One was for a Bangladesh batsman to hit a 50. He only got 13 in the innings so I'm guessing the bet was made at the start when surely the odds would have been more than 1.01.
============================ beginning to sound even more fraudulent if he was siphoning offmoney into another account |

Very Sad, Ive never met Blatch but remember him Always appearing to do well in multis on crypto, often talked to him on tables there, i thought he was raking it in ,in those days.Lot of people give Arb grief but fair play
to him at least it has stopped now ,I wonder if any bets were ever placed at all ,I also wonder if he was on his own in all this ,when I started reading the thread I thought he was using a 2% account and claiming to pay 5% which would not have been good but since he was doing the work perhaps acceptable ,not sure where people stand legally doubt they will ever see a penny of their money .. |

Is Arbboy still banned on there please?
|
|
By:
no he was reinstated when proved right.
reading the thread i can't see why he was banned in the first place as all his questions and points were legit. ok he was a bit repetitive but that's it. |
|
By:
never read that forum before but they all seemed to be blindly single-minded against arbboy there, they were living in dreamworld for so long....if they were so ignorant with their money I'm sure they had it coming.
|
|
By:
To be fair to blonde they are pretty effective in modding. So there is talk of warnings, and it is clear some posts have gone. So I don't think it is what is left that got him the ban.
And when Fancypant grimmed me, he managed to get me banned here for a month. And that was only a tiny percent of full on blatch grim... |
|
By:
tbf i started reading the thread yesterday and even then arbboys posts sent me on tilt, when i had already heard it was dodgy.
he was banned not because of what he said but because he was asked many, many times to stop posting the same thing all over the forum. unfortunately sometimes its not the message but how the message is communicated. |

not sure about arbboy gaining legend status as a result of pointing out the bleeding obvious.
while i have some sympathy for the " investors " its somewhat tempered by the thought that they must have been incredibly dim to hand over money to a bloke to punt football. as dave shallow points out on the thread almost everyone sport bets for fun while aware that in the long run they will lose. what arbboy did was labour the point that sports betting/trading is hard graft, and you only get out what you put in, to the stage where they banned him. you didnt have to be albert einstein or phil bull to realise after 2 pages of the initial thread that the bloke blatch was a chancer. i can understand a couple of his close friends having the wool pulled over their eyes but some of the other investors...jeez what were they thinking ? |

Above is like backing New Zealand to draw with Italy at pre match oddds 5 mins ago :D
Of course everyone looks at thread now and thinks how could i be so stupid. |
