Been playing poker for a couple of years now and am currently playing regularly on 5 different sites. On 4 of these I have a healthy positive ROI - nothing spectacular but I do make money.

However with Pstars I have a negative ROI in spite of playing no different than elsewhere. I thought this might be due to the fact that playing the massive MTT's there is likely to incur a very high variance. However, lately I have been playing the $5 10 seat D2N's and am still struggling.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, and if they have found they have had to adapt their play there. As far as I can see, the fact that folks there seem to call with anything should not be a reason for it.

Same as you; Played 'crooks' for 6 years and showed a healthy profit in that time but once I moved to Stars (for more competition) it all went downhill yet I found myself going out with the best hand on almost every occasion.

At first I didn't worry too much as I'm a firm believer that long term ROI would correct itself but it just seems to stand still on there with a string of bad beats to knock me down every time I go positive... gave up in the end, waste of time!

Same for me. Play on many sites pstars is the only one where i break even. Winning on the rest. Dont know what it is. Theres something i dont like about the site but maybe its just me thinking to much.

sounds like too many fish on the other sites and you may not have moved your game in line with the flow

Can't win on stars for love nor money. No problems on FT!

Simple solution, stick to the sites you do well at!

I played on lads for a few years and made over£5k profit all low stake stts

Moved here and about same profit in same period mtts/stts/ leaderboards etc

Tried pstars dismal played for 3 months and just about broke even

same on ftilt

Perhaps its a different client base mainly USA on pstars ftilt

But my experience is of both sites that mid game in stts mad hands appear that make 3 or more have to bet massively if you avoid that minefield you win when game goes back to normal towards the end

Plus lads and bfair attract lots of gamblers rather than poker players

So despite bfs major problems i suffer them

I think the law of large numbers - or are they small numbers? - must be applying here. Pokerstars has never paid for me either but I don't think there's any other reasomn for that, than variance.

I recently had the same issues on FT. Playing 6seater STT's. Incredible amount of Flushes. Playing small stakes difficult to win with premium hands as no matter what the raise, always get a caller who more than often hits a hand, often a flush if two hole cards of same suit.

Unreal amount of same suit flops...

Played 250 games broke even and left.

Some interesting replies Thanks.

I made a profit when I first started using stars. Then a couple of weeks ago it all started going wrong. Going all in with best hand and repeatedly losing. Just put it down to bad luck but its getting beyond a joke and I dont feel like putting any more money into my account.

I think I will just concede defeat with that site and stick to the ones where I make money.

I just have a funny feeling something is not right with the it. I personally think its juiced. The only site i think. Not in anyones favour just to get players out and play another game. Maybe im wrong but i have never felt comfortable playing on the site. Something is up.

yeah, it's definitely rigged. that's how they get people addicted
Report Dooberama February 18, 2010 8:58 PM GMT
from memory, isn't every site rigged for you anfeild?
Report Nova Sicko February 18, 2010 8:59 PM GMT
On FT and poker stars they seem to play exactly like a fruit machine for me.
Report anfeild February 18, 2010 9:06 PM GMT
No i dont believe any other site is rigged. Im a casual player and on every other site i am winning not alot but around the same roi. Its not hard cheese just feel something is not right with it. Im breakeven on pokerstarrs and its nothing to do with it. Doob just because i think theres something up does not make me a loone. I bet people where**ed saying ub was fixed. As i said i think theres something not right with pokerstars maybe im wrong but thats how i feel.
Report Dooberama February 18, 2010 9:08 PM GMT
I think the main problem with stars, anfeild excepted, is simply variance. I ran badly there for a long time, but a couple of results and suddenly my roi is massive. It is just variance though, i wasn't a bad player before and am not a poker genius now.

A couple of bad beats or a bad flip and I'd still look dreadful there.
Report anfeild February 18, 2010 9:16 PM GMT
Maybe thats it. I only play sit and gos.
Report Nova Sicko February 18, 2010 9:19 PM GMT
The best site ever for me was crypto, but not all skins, others would swear it was juiced.
