Q: Could you please list all the Betfair Poker employees and their roles?
Many Thanks |

On Thursday I complained about a player attempting to collude with another player in the chatbox - bubble stage of a d2n.
It was, apparently, being investigated by the verification team. They should need about 2 mins to confirm him saying "I've got top pair. Don't bet." And then they should refund. 4 days on - still waiting. Remember the promises about stamping out collusion? |

It still ceases to amaze me that apparently there is no demand for the rapid structured events (10 min blinds). So what do Betfair do? They organize there two most popular mtts around it the 12k and the 3.2k with the rapid structure. It sickens me that they can not put a few rapid structured mtts up apart from these two events.I play elsewhere now cos i`m sick of playing turbo poker :-(

We cannot post a list of all employees and their names due to data prtoection. ...................... You told us Bruce Stubbs was the Head of Betfair Poker. Was this a breach of the Data protection act? |
|
By:
BF- Thank you for the reply.
Could you at least confirm who the key decision makers are at Betfair poker and the current status of Mr Bruce Stubbs within the organization? Many Thanks |

You've got something up your sleeve Jezza :)

that data protection act is sure a lot of trouble....
Police today arrested the Data Protection Act after a series of murders in Northern England earlier this year. The Data Protection Act was remanded in custody for a commital hearing later this week. Betfair Poker announced the launch of their new software today. When this reporter queried the technical team about not being able to see his hole cards, the comment was made that "unfortunately due to the Data Protection Act we cannot reveal what your hole cards actually are". This new feature I am sure will be a big hit in Greece and Cyprus. Scientests today announced that evidence points towards the Data Protection Act as a major cause of global warming. Professor Nincompoop said that along with the increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the Data Protection Act is the single most likely cause of rising temperatures. Without action to curb the Act, sea levels will fall and gay whales will become extinct. Georgina Gump (8) from Newhaven Town was walking home from school when the Data Protection Act leapt from a nearby car and attempted to abduct her, police said today. Thankfully, with the help of passers by who were able to subdue the act by mentioning the names of Betfair Poker employees, the frightened schoolgirl was saved from being kidnapped. |

I have a good idea. As there is no demand for the rapid structure (10 minute blinds) lets make the two most popualr mtts(12k &3.2k) with the 10 min blind structure. What a joke of a company

At the risk of sounding like a City fan - tick tock.
Still nothing from Betfair. |

And I'm assuming BetfairPokerPR is a joker as opposed to a genuine Betty representative

Lisa why would they possibly reply to such a thread?
|
|
By:
Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs.
A reply! In the posiitive! No mention of data protection. A player banned from chat for a month - no mention of a refund but from small acorns mighty oaks do grow. |
|
By:
Lisa personally I'd have to disagree. Despite not playing here (and almost certainly never will again) I'd be furious - especially after all the hooha everyone made about collusion, and all they can do is suspend his chat privileges for a month!!
Any site serious about integrity would imo refund players entry fees and either warn the player about collusion or temporarily ban them from the site. I think a permanent ban might be a touch harsh in the circumstances, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it either. |

Hold the bus!
Another email from Betfair: To get my refund - which is only a few quid (this was a $10 d2n as I recall) - I now have to write to the verification team in person to get my money back. I've refused to do it. Having complained once and had that complaint upheld, the money should bounce into my account immediately imo, as opposed to 2 weeks later. Or am I being unreasonable? |
|
By:
The thing is Six - if this was any other site I'd be long gone. But Betfair have the softest games on the net so, though I would leave if necessary, I don't want to hack off my conk to spite my visage.

Further installment from Betfair Poker:
Dear *****, As per the response of our Poker team, please note that the Verifications team concluded that the other player was just coffeehousing as opposed to doing anything collusive: For your perusal the definition of coffeehousing is as follows: When you talk incessantly during a poker hand you are said to be coffeehousing. It is a subtle and quite sneaky strategy whereby you attempt to distract the opposition with verbal flair, and also try to weasel information in this way from your competition. Basically, this action was aimed at distracting the other player as opposed to provide any information to the other opponent and this is not something we can stop. For this reason, I am afraid that there is no reason for compensation. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further enquiries. Kind regards, Daniela Spiteri |

No - that is incorrect. He informed another player of the hand he was holding and he specifically told them to "just check" - in other words telling him not to bet - look at the transcript!
If one player tells another what to do and gives information on the hand he is holding, that's **ing by collusion. It's almost a dictionary definition. If he was "coffeehousing" as you put it then there is no reason to issue him with a chat ban - that's ridiculous. Using the chat box to gain information or to distract is fine as far as I'm concerned. In this case he sought to influence betting by disclosing the precise nature of the hand he was holding. I find it faintly ridiculous that I am having to argue this case with people who are there specifically to cut this sort of thing out. I repeat - if he didn't ** - why has he been chat banned? He wasn't abusive, so why exactly? |

That was my reply by the way.
Any input welcome. |

walofs, they are blowing you big time, at least at $10 you paid less than the going rate for it
|
|
By:
Yep - I won't play the d2ns above 20 anyway but this one followed all the bullsh1t we got on here about stamping out collusion. So I've decided this is my line in the sand, and I'm going to nag the feck out of them for my money back.
The thing that gets me is that he was "justcoffeehousing" and yet they give him a month ban. It's like they want it both ways. T0ssers. |
|
By:
they seem to be scared to ban people because they lose that person as a customer which significantly affects how many people are left playing on betfair.
what they don't realise is more are leaving because of blatant collusion. i wonder when it will get to the point that the only people left playing are teams colluding against each other. just like ft done 'rush poker', here they'll have 'team poker' (but you don't get the choice to play anything else) |

Lisa
I think ur taking this the wrong way. PPl say all the time that they have AA etc dont bet only to steal *****more or less i dont see why this is any different. Yes its on the bubble but either way i play my own cards and the opponent. I never listen to trash talk by opponents why dhould you listen to the oppoinent? yeh he could have top pair but ur basing ur view that he colluded. had u been the 3rd player in the d2n tournament who wasnt in that hand - would you have phoned betfair to get a refund? nope double standards either way? lots of ppl watch etc and play via msn - nothing u can do about it or prove it nowadays! |
|
By:
That's ridiculous inspiraman.
Two things: 1. Do you have a definition of collusion? 2. If the guy did nothing wrong, why has he been punished? And of course the situation makes a difference. The last thing you want in a D2N when you're 2nd from bottom, and short-stack is all in, is the chip leader betting into the pot. That's the situation he was in. The CL had already bet the turn by the way. Of course the CL shouldn't bet but that's another issue entirely. My villain sought to stop the CL from betting again by accurately disclosing his hand and specifically saying "Just check". Ffs - if that isn't colluding seeking to collude explicitly, what is? As for double standards have always told players to shut up (but politely), when talking about a hand in progress. The MSN angle is a complete red herring. Betfair can't do anything about that. They can administer events in their own chat box. |

|For those remotely interested in the saga, an email from Betfair this morning:
Dear *****, Thank you for your e-mail. In light of the poor service, this has been raised for the immediate attention of our investigations team for further clarification. A thorough investigation has been requested on your behalf, and further a note for compensation. Whilst I can't promise the latter, the necessary action will be taken should the evidence suggest a collusion attempt. We thank you for your patience in this matter, and would like to empathise with your frustration in this matter. A further 24 hours will allow us to resolve the issue permanently. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further enquiries. Kind regards, Lionel Galea Betfair helpdesk |
