Fed up with the bad beats set ups and suck outs. This site is unreal final straw today when I re-raised $7 bet on 1/2 to $24 with KK. Get called by J8 flop xx8 I pot bet he goes all in I insta call 8 comes on turn......Says it all after the shockers recently so bye bye and gl all. Flushed Up x
Why does everyone blame the software? The problem isn't the software, the problem is YOU. Don't blame the bad beats on the software, look at your play and analyse where your going wrong.
If you enjoy the game, why quit?
I hate to see anyone go, this site isn't that bad. Play the freeroll's or the added tournaments but never ever risk more than you can afford to lose.
How much would you pay for an hours entertainment elsewhere?

Question is? How do you break out of all these bad beats, suck outs etc? I've been going thro it for the past 5 weeks and it shows no sign of ending. Had ir go on for months b4 and it is totally demoralising and depressing. I feel for you, but r other sites any different?

McCoy, we play the same stakes. I hit tilt as well, sometimes its the cards or players, other times its my own play. I generally drop stakes or play limit cash, finally if I've no success, I change sites (I always come back to betfair).
I've been playing D2N's on a superheater on B2B since Christmas - 9 10 wins in a row during the week. On Friday and yesterday I ran into a brick wall and couldn't win a thing. Today I came back here and lucked out on a 6 seater $10 STT (my opponent was a donk but I still hit lucky). I have bubbled 2 since but its gave me some confidence back. I'll be here the rest of the evening.
I think state of mind has a lot to do with things. When I stay focussed and confident I can beat anyone, when the *****are down I tend to expect the bad beats.
HTH

And I think your saying this as if the cards are any different on other sites, which there not. The change of scenery/ different players is probably the key to winning again. Its more about getting the confidence back.

I hate bad beats. But console my self by realising that I want my *****in when ahead and bad plays do win. The poor calls/beats are variance. i.e. Don't be so results orientated.

I take your point about being correct when you get your *****in ahead but f* me I have never been on a run so bad doing so. And being correct and getting beat doesnt improve your roll.....

Like most days I am still seething and steaming with rage and suffering a huge sense of injustice about the bad beats put on me today...
However, I have totally forgotten about my all-in 8 4 os, when i was getting blinded out, which turned into a flush and if anybody mentioned my Ace rag all-in pre against Q Q and 10 10 when the board came up 2 2 x 2 2 I wouldn't know what the fvck they were on about.
swings and roundabouts chaps.

come back when u have run truly, astonishingly horrific for 3000 tournaments :0
below ev 26 days out of 29 and then 22 days out of 24.
250 tournament buyins below ev.
If anyone doubts this is possible, I got the graphs to prove it is.
if u are a recreational player it could take you years to start showing any kind of realistic sample based on the comparatively low volume you are playing
unfortunately playing well isn't enough....this game is totally dependent on running good :(

Playing MTT's is the highest variance form of NLHE. You need to have really good bankroll management to have a chance to absorb the swings.
I have no idea why anyone would want to play tournament poker on Betfair. The prizepools are abysmal due to the lack of traffic and all they seem to want to provide is low buy in crapshoots to keep the same people buying in hour after hour.
Try playing ring games. Playing FR is like always playing level 1 of a tournament, so if you're any good, you will clear a nice profit. If you want to play tournaments, play somwhere like *s where you at least get a bit of value for your money.

Im not results orientated, im money orientated, and when im getting my money in good consistently but find myself having to reload or being out of a tournament, it f*cks me off, it doesnt console me in the slightest.
it seems like my variance is: when the pot is $4, i hit my flush on the river, when the pot is $400 and im all in, my AA loses to KK

Nice post Mavis. I know from my own experience that these sort of down swings are possible. Thing is have we had our biggest ever win from poker and our biggest ever losing run from poker through out our poker career? I would like to think no for the first and yes to the latter, but the more you play, the more both are likely. It's a poker paradox.
