I've been grinding $10nl for a little while now and I'm thinking of moving up to $20nl tomorrow as its the start of a new month and all that.

Who are the best players at that limit that I should be looking out for?

There aren't many good $10nl regs, is the difference noticeable between $10nl and $20nl, or are there just slightly fewer fish per table, rather than the standard of the better players actually improving much?

Wish me luck :)

I think thats a slightly patronising attitude. There are tonnes of decent grinders making their way through the limits at various stages of their development.

Take Stars for example, there are people playing $25nl with supernova status, making a wage grinding hard. You can easily make a relatively decent wage playing say 80k hands of $50nl per month too, so at what limit would you say you begin to find 'serious players'?

100nl there are a few who can make a living. but mainly 200nl+

supernova just means that have paid 20k in r @ke over the course of the year. Oh im not sure what site your currently play but i wouldnt bother with cash on stars defo hardest on the net.

If you can win 2ptbb/100 at 50nl you will be far better off than working for the average wage of £25k or whatever it is.

CheckMyNuts regularly plays there aka FlopItHot on the forum. He has a big ego and even though 10NL and 20NL are his main games he occasionally takes massively underrolled shots at 200NL and by some freak of thought believes that it makes it his main game.

However, at 10NL and 20NL he is one of the best players.

I can coach you some for free OP if you'd be interested. I moved from starting 25NL to 1000NL as my main game and 2000NL shots in less than a year. I am not sure why I do this but probably ego-related.

I totally agree with H4NNIBAL,

I do think that there are very descent players at those levels, although I am not sure they make enough profit to live from that. I knew a few players at the times I played that limits a lot that really won almost every day. I dont know their names, the best example moves 1 level up.....(no not me:P)

There are some things most real good players 'always' do:
- multitabling
- same levels, maybesometimes 1 level different
- always maximum buy-in
- they normally dont talk (boring but ok...)

There aren't many good players at $20nl on Betfair. I think a 10bb/100(HEM not PT)is the minimum a good player can expect to earn over a decent sample size.

I stopped playing on Betfair shortly after Xmas because the software and my laptop were uncomfortable bedfellows but I've since bought a new machine and I can now 4 table without any glitches at all.

Playing more than 4 tables would probably increase my hourly but my main goal is to play good poker, rather than just play tight and wait to stack a fish, so 4 tabling does me just fine.

There are some semi competent regs at $20nl but most of them are pretty easy to exploit, as they're playing too many tables and a very predictable style.

I'm going to grind $20nl for all of February, just to get myself over rolled for $50nl, which I hope to start attacking again in March. I think that its possible to make ~$2k per month inc cakeback at $50nl on Betfair playing as little as 30k hands.

For the record, Stars is nowhere near the toughest place to play ring games online. Sites like UB/AP or Tilt are far tougher because they have tonnes of tedious cakeback grinders playing break even poker building their roll from cakeback. These players aren't giving you many problems but they sit at so many tables, its hard to find tables with more than one fish on to help boost your winrate.

This is why sites like Betfair are insanely profitable. The hardcore grinders who want to be playing 12+ tables just don't bother with it because of the software limitations, meaning good aggressive thinking players can really hoover up tonnes of dead money.

Stay out of my games! lol
