please ignore my limp, had reason for it due to type of game and how the table hd been playing

IIMOZLII's play, i had a slight sarcastic moment about his 8 high flush draw, then got a load of "he had correct pot odds" style abuse from a player

was he right about having the pot odds? asking as i am, as some of you realise, trying to re-educate myself and improve my game somewhat

he's 40% to win the hand and needs about 36% to be getting the right price (2700 to win 7500)
Report fundamentalist January 23, 2010 2:57 PM GMT
the 40% obv is knowing your 2 hands which means there is no other clubs out there and he has 9 live outs, hard to assume he has all 9 the way the hand plays which does make it more marginal, as to a degree does the fact that hes calling off his tourney in effect
Report WhatD'YouThinkOfThoseApplles January 23, 2010 3:02 PM GMT
so mathematically he just bout had the odds

but sitationally he should have folded

is the above right??

mathematically he just about had the odds, as for situationally im not much of a sng player, i expect the correct evaluation is to look at an ICM calculation.

at cash i call, in a mtt if its cheap entry and earlyish i call, if its a sng i guess its marginal but as im a bit of a station at times i call begrudgingly lol

90player stt ko type thing, down to last 45 or so, a good hour and half to play at least

Think I would call in his position in that game, but may fold in different situations.
Report richpickns January 23, 2010 9:17 PM GMT
his horrible flat call of 500 (when playing 3,500) on the flop means he can never fold to a reraise
Report richpickns January 23, 2010 9:19 PM GMT
but a lot of players will not fold a flush draw 3 way allin when getting 3-1 on their money mid stages of a 99 runner stt
Report richpickns January 23, 2010 9:19 PM GMT
and if you are a poor player you have to take the gamble

Limp is horrid pre, just fold, you have ace rag in poition 2. The table wold have to be so weak to make it profitable Your bet could have been higher with all the draws that could have been around.

800 pot, 550 bet still seems a bit like you are trtying to trap.

He only has the odds if his is the only flush draw. But once he calls your 550, I think anybody would struggle to fold in his position with his stack.

If you had bet 800 and he had called then you probably have more scope for criticism.

Your bet post flop....

fold pre. No matter what game dynamics are. A4 is not a limping hand full table table utg+1 mate. Come on these are basics.
