You didnt lead. he check you bet. Pre you need to 4x their raise if you are 3 betting so $3 is fine. Then flop you should be betting $4/5 or checking. You said you bet cos you hoped he had Ax or 88, so why bet so little? They still call $4 with those hands or raise. Turn is ok, river is an easy fold. As hand was played id rate your play 2/10. No offence mate.

Don't play cash but agree with LTG easy fold on flop.

You have to lead out properly post flop on a very draw heavy board, river is a very easy fold.

As others have said, the pre flop bet isn't big enough. Either call, or raise properly. The flop bet is horrific, bet all your hands the same. I know you asked for a mentor before. I think a lot of your hands follow a theme, you get trappy with big hands and price people in. The tiny bet just makes him suspicious so he pretty much never ever reraises.

As it was if you played it better the result is the same. He never folds, which shows why you should bet more. He either has an ace and calls that flop, or he has a draw and then you should give him a bad price. Either demands a bigger bet on the flop. If he has no draw and no ace you never get anything much from him, so don't try and get clever.

ok, some good input there, and i mean proper input, not just telling me i play shiit lol

ty guys, appreciated, and i'll work on it, is it possible that playing it so "rappy" would work better for MTTs as opposed to cash?

now a difrent hand, much shorter hand, did i do right, or considering stack sizes, should i have just flat called and tried to get the pot bigger?

Hi mick, i've posted on one of your threads before. I think one of your main problems and a fault of alot of players(have made the mistake myself in the past), Is that you think you have won the hand before it has finished and unfortunately can then not give up a hand that has blatantly lost. You really need to improve your pre and post flop play
Report WhatD'YouThinkOfThoseApplles January 22, 2010 9:37 PM GMT
def working on it baron, taking it slow, trying to forget my past victories and start afresh, bit of an old dog tho, will take time patience and discipline

Any profit you take on a given hand is good, learn to play your full range opitimally!
Report Dooberama January 22, 2010 10:01 PM GMT
Which works best?
a)

NeedYourMonies raises to $0.75
GWCGWC folds
fonkosh8390 folds
teamonkey73 raises to $2 (I have aces so I raise small)
welho85 has 15 seconds left to act
welho85 folds
Lucky1Phil folds
NeedYourMonies raises to $5
teamonkey73 has 15 seconds left to act
teamonkey73 raises to $11.88 (I really do have aces)

or

b)

NeedYourMonies raises to $0.75
GWCGWC folds
fonkosh8390 folds
teamonkey73 raises to $3 (I have a hand)
welho85 has 15 seconds left to act
welho85 folds
Lucky1Phil folds
NeedYourMonies raises to $9
teamonkey73 has 15 seconds left to act
teamonkey73 calls

In the first he puts you on aces and maybe kings. In the second he puts you any pair, maybe AK, AQ, Maybe and ace if he thinks you are bad, and maybe suited connectors if he thinks you are good.

In the first hand, unless he is Italian, he pretty much never pays you off with a worse hand, in the second he often does.

And it doesn't make a difference if it is cash or MTTs, most bad moves in cash are bad moves in MTTs too.
