Tenerife prob yr best bet. Some real nice hotels in Costa Adeje which is close to playa de las americas which is the busy part.
Night life gonna be very quiest this time of year though. We normally go in Feb half term and even then its not that busy. Just do vegas instead imo |

What joffy said. We go tenerife every December but it just gets worse every year. Tenerife is pretty much dead 10 months of the year for nightlife. Loads of annoying PRs fighting for your custom which makes it dead cheap if you look around veronicas.

Must say, Tenerife strikes me as being a bit yobby. Been to Lanzarote, Playa Blanca and enjoyed it, but a little bit quiet - fancy something a bit livelier. Any hotels anyone recommend in Gran Canaria?

Awful memories of all the P.R. cnuts at single bar.
Bar after Bar :) That's in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Albefeira, actually, pretty much anywhere there's a fair bit of nightlife. Just leave us alone and do one will you ffsssssss and stick your 2 free shots up your ar se. |

Fook me i've pulled a few of those**roaches in las americas. Do you play golf? If so Costa Adeje is the place to stay, great course and reasonable. All of the canaries are quiet this time of the yea, infact they're all quieter than they were 10 years ago, but if you just want some winter sun and a few beers you can't beat them. |

Had to come off the balcony sunbathing, too hot. Don,t recognise the place from what has been said above.
Flatliner,Las Americas B-) |

Use to love my golf, then I found........poker :(

Ok, booked it. Lanzarote Village Hotel, Puerto Del Carmen. Flying from Bournemouth with Palmair and good reviews on Tripadvisor. Now, thought I'd play a bit of poker, during the day whilst sipping a cubre libra by the pool a la Florida Four. Free Wi Fi, so can anyone recommend a good netbook, not too expensive with good battery life? Also with say a 10 inch netbook, how many tables can you play at once side by side? 2? TIA

By:
why would you want to go away and play poker all week get a life
|
|
By:
I didn't say that. During the day, I like lazing around, going for walks, doing crosswords, reading, maybe a swim. Wouldn't mind playing a bit of poker for an hour or so. Plus, late afternoon, early evening, say between 5-7, is always a bit of a dead time. The sun has gone down, but too early to eat or to get on the pi$$ seriously. So it's either a siesta or find something to do. Couple of hours of poker would fit in nicely. Probably take pack of cards, board & play my mate at crib instead.

Was maybe thinking of getting away end of month for a week, for a bit of sun and nightlife. McCoy Carp 13 Jan 17:24 I like lazing around, going for walks, doing crosswords, reading, maybe a swim. Probably take pack of cards, board & play my mate at crib instead. Make your mind up man, are you going partying till you spew or on a pensioners coach trip away? ;) |
|
By:
Of course I'm going partying! But not all fecking day! Relax during the day, few cubre libras, beers etc, drop of cava for breakfast, then hit it hard in the evening. Jeezers, read the last post.
|
|
By:
I did, that's where I got the crosswords, walks and playing crib from :)
|

Ok, you win. I shall get rat ar$ed all day every day. After all it's a shame not to abuse the all inclusive and keep the tradition of the English "Chav" holidaymaker to the fore. Must get myself some tattoos and football shirts before I go and put on a couple of stone.
|
|
By:
Now you're talking sense. Glad to be of some help :)

I always think the 4-7 session is a cracking part of the holiday.
With family you play with the kids all day and do the trips then around 4pm the wife takes the troops back to room for siesta time and get ready for the evening. You then get a few beers in you to ensure your the best dancer at the 7pm childrens disco. Without family wake up at three, quick perv on the beech then bar at 4 to start the coma all over again. Incidentally will you be taking your special poker only computer and chair ;) |

Flying from Bournemouth with Palmair
Sound fly with them to Tenerife. Bournemouth airport very good non of endless cueing up just because it is still small. |
|
By:
dig abit deeper and go to thailand. No such thing as 4pm there cause it's a 24 hour playground!
|
|
By:
Special computer netbook please Joffy. ;) Yes, flying from Bournemouth makes it. Don't fancy Thailand, although never heard anyone say a bad word about it.

I bought a dell inspiron for my mum for christmas and a mate of mine also has one. It's a great bit of kit and can display 4 tables at once. I've just downloaded betfair and tried it, I also needed to install directx.
The tables seem to have a minimum size which means minimal overlap ii.e. top and bottom tables don't overlap but right hand tables cover half the chat box / bet buttons of the left hand ones. You might want to upgrade the battery, I did and it lasts approx 6 hours , although I assume 4 tabling will reduce that considerably. |
|
By:
Thanks mate.
|
|
By:
that's the mini 10v btw, forget to say. I've been on it for the last hour and battery now says 7hrs 22 left / 84%.
