Was going well in the 100 rebuy on *s and was in for 300$.
This is 2 off the button and my thought process is explained below.
Do people think i misplayed this? I am obviously working on mindest of final table than limp into cash but not sure what ICM would say here? In hindsight I am thinking should have check / folded as 800$ not to be snuffed at and difference between 9th and 54th is set out below.
if impacts calculations then prizes were as below and at time of hand there was 56 or 57 left.
1st is 31K$ 9th (where I would be if won that hand) is 3k$ and 54th is 820$
Anyway my though process - when he flats I put him on a big hand 1010-QQ and AQ I think he raises with his stack size AK AA and KK. Hence flop is good for majority of his hands. I figure on flop if I bet he will flat with all his range bar AQ, and that my hand is then in trouble in a large pot if blank comes turn. By check raising i figured i probably get a bluff bet from AQ, and may well fold out 1010-QQ with check raise as I think it looks really strong, my stats for this tourney alone were pretty tight especially c/r % but he instant snapped so read that wrong.

I think raise size is pretty standard and i raise to that with AA or 78 if play them in the hand. I dont want to define my hand by raise size hence tend to try and keep this equalish between 2.5 and 3 BB with big hands and cack.
Not sure if this is what you mean or whether you think i should say raise 2-3* his bet on flop which in effect puts me all in?

Well, the way a lot play a smaller bet represents a weaker hand. I think in his postion I'm likely calling there also. I can see your thought process, but checking the flop could mean you've missed it, the all in could be overpair, but decent chance of flush draw or missed AK etc also so he has to call imo.

I think you're over thinking this hand mate. The whole hand is pretty standard as played. You are a favourite on that flop against Queens Jacks and Tens, which was the read that you correctly had, and only in bad but not terrible shape against Aces. And as you have AK then this limits the chances of him having Aces or Kings.
This is a good spot for you to double up, you need to win these races, but that flop means you're never getting away from it once he bets.
UL mate.
:)

You simply have to stick your *****in here with 2 overs and the flush draw. Out of interest why do you raise between 2.5 and 3bb? I have been lowering my raising amounts as a mtt goes on. For example in this case I would've probably raised to something like 2975
