Playing £1/£1 at the Vic, luckboxed myself up to £500 from a starting stack of £150 in about 20 hands!
Villian in hand has just started, has brought in for £200 but has clearly added another £300 when dealers changed so we have about equal stacks. Max buying is £200. I have heard the floor ask him if he wants a seat in the £2/5 game, so he clearly is fairly regular as he is on first name terms with the floor. He is at the moment playing about 90% of hands!
Its limped to me in the BB i raise to £10 with red AA, shortstack calls, Villian calls. 992 flop two diamonds i lead for £15 shortstack calls Villian raises to £55. At this point ask how much he has, this is when I find out he has added extra to the table, what would the ruling be here? Should i call the floor? To be honest he seems like a sweet bloke and I'm not really the grassing type but this has made the hand alot harder to play!
Anyway I feel like I have the best hand but dont really like raising to £165 to fold to a shove and Im not sure if I like flatting, so what is the best way to play it without stacking off with 1 pair 500bbs deep?? Also he could have a 9 as he does not seem to fold, and also does he have to think he has the shortstack beat to raise?
My main question is really should I call the floor on him adding more money, and if I did what would the floor have done?

oh and £500 is a decent ammount of money 2 me!

re the extra cash - personally i would ask him how he was allowed to buy in for the extra , although it could have been that he left the table recently and was bringing his *****back in , if thats not the case i would request that the extra is removed . if i was asked the question i would check with the dealers and the table and if proved he bought in over max then i would make him take his *****off , it could be a genuine mistake if he has his mind set on a £2/5 space where the £500 would be good
as for the hand - not sure , if you think he has the 9 then its a fold he could be worried about the flush hence the re raise or could just be repping it with the flush draw . at least if you get the *****out of the way then its a bit of an easier choice |

you can't question his stack now. surely you should (and would have every right to double chk) have done this when the extra was added.
so its really how to play 500bbs of scared money hand against an unknown. my immediate impression of your description is he sounds like a sammy george type so i aint folding. take his money. |

i think you have every right to question his stack now, if you didnt notice it before - its not up to you to monitor the game, thats the dealers job.
as for how to play it, i dont have a fecking clue, HTH :) |
