Bolt without question.
By:
Taylor without question, in 10 years time somebody else will hold the 100m record not bolt, Taylor's record will never be matched even with new tech.
By:
bolt at running ,taylor at darts thought that would be obvious !!!
By:
The track's these days make all the difference, would love to know what time owens could do today on one of these tracks, if he could do 10 secs dead on a mud track!! Plus he smoked as well for 40 years.

bolt bolt bolt bolt bolt! the most amazing sportsmen i have ever seen
By:
I remember the commentor saying 'The clock must be wrong he can't just shave 1/2 a second off the world record' after Johnson destroyed the 200m record, just shows what tracks have done to the time.
By:
Taylor has been at the top for 20 years, if Bolt can set records that last 20 years then he is on a par. Would be interesting if bolt decided to take up darts when he stops running.
By:
Maybe Taylor will take up running when he quits darts?!
By:
No skill in what Bolt does - he's just a fast runner.
By:
Bolt's achievements transend his particular sport and are recognized worldwide even to those who have no interest in it, that is the deciding factor for me.
By:
Also, not being funny, but the players who take part in your local pub league are not much different to some of the players who you see in the first few rounds of the darts (and therefore presumbably in the top 100 or so in the world), I doubt you could say that if you walked down to your local athletics track. Another thing is that there are two different world championships at darts. Not saying Taylor wouldn't have won a load if they were combined, but it would have been a lot tougher and more competitive, no way would he have dominated for so long.
By:
`recognised even by those with no interest in it'. What has that got to do with anything?
So because someone gets more media coverage than someone else they are better than them, in that case beckham is the greatest english footballer of all time. Taylor is clearly better at his field compared to Bolt. Taylor has dominated his darts for many years, Bolt in sprinting for considerably shorter and is an area whose credability is bordering on zero. However, it is highly dubious if either is a sport. Darts has very negligable physical activity and 100m sprint surely cannot qualify as a skill. |

I love darts have followed it for years TAYLOR in
a world of his own ,there will never be any better, darts has hardly changed over the years......... Bolt may not be the man in 10 years ,Athletics, running surfaces, equipment ,Training Diet ETC are big factors that all change .. |
By:
My top three are: Tony McCoy, Tiger Woods and Phil Taylor for the simple reason that they have taken things to another level and forced the others to up their game. I would go for McCoy as my favourite. He constantly has to waste, comes across as very unassuming and his whole drive and example to others is reflected in the current crop of jump jockeys - which must be the best there has ever been. Contrast them with the flat jockeys. Can only be a matter of time before he is knighted.
By:
By the way I'll be at Frimley Green on Wednesday for the Butlins Darts Organisation World Championships. I love darts - as good as football.:)
By:
KBP, where did I mention anything about media coverage? Ask someone around the other side of the world, maybe in some remote village in goodness knows where, if they have heard of Bolt. Pretty fair chance they'll say yes, as he's the fastest sprinter there is. Ask if they've heard of Taylor, and I'm afraid you will just get a blank look. That's my point about achievements transending the sport, and hence the difference for me.

Everybody runs ... hardly anyone plays darts.

Chop, the most famous person in the world is 'The pope' but he doesn't come in my top100 people in the world for idols/geniuses, now back to who is the best, you have to go on achievements and by a country mile Taylor has not only dominated his sport for over 15 years he is better than EVER! (No other sportsman, past present or future have/will achieve this)
He is the only person when he got to the top of the mountain he saw another peak to climb, whether you like darts or dont think it's a sport the man soul destroys any challenger to his crown. To put it in context, Bolt would have to win 96% of all major finals for the next 15 years AND break the world record in 15 years time, never ever will he achieve it. |

Everybody runs ... hardly anyone plays darts. That's like saying, hardly anybody can run faster than 10.5 secs for 100m so how many has he really got to beat. |
By:
And ... I guess there are young 100m runners all over the world training their hearts out in order to match Bolts achievements.
These other darts players like Mardle, Lloyd, Baxter, Painter and Manley are just content coming 2nd to Taylor. Never has their been a sport with such woeful opposition. Only Barney can hold his head up high. I'm hopeful also this Aussie will have a better attitude. To many darts players are just content singing his praises rather than applying themselves and matching what Taylor can do. |
By:
Woeful oppostion, lol Lewis scored 2 180 against Taylor and STILL lost the leg and you think that's woeful!
By:
Yes he still lost so rather going off and wnking off about how great Taylor is he should get back out on that dartboard and make sure he wins next time. Taylor always mentions practice in his interviews, I think even he is embarrassed by the lack of opposition.
By:
I again repeat my point about him only dominating the sport for so long because there are two different world championships.
By:
Doob, you dont really believe these guys dont practise has much as Taylor surely! I would say in most sports number 2 trains alot harder than number 1.
By:
Chop, 2 world championships lmao, the championship players are no match for the premier league players, hence that why they stay in the championship.
By:
That is total rubbish, take away the top few in the PDC and the standard is way better in the BDO.
By:
I understand why women are pishhh at the 100m etc due to their physical makeup , but why are they not any good at darts, doms, pool and snooker ?
I appreciate they might have to use a sports bra to avoid feathering the snooker balls but that should not be a handicap. |

That is total rubbish, take away the top few in the PDC and the standard is way better in the BDO WHAT? Are you watching it the right way round! Barney got bored beating 2 rate players and moved over to the big boys, is he in the Final tonight? |
By:
If they all moved over from BDO, 95% of them would have to get a job.
By:
Barney moved over because of money, please tell me you don't think it was due to the standard?
By:
OMG, if it's money why are they all not moving over!! Why play 50 cents poker if you can easily beat $2.50.
The big money in any sport is where the cream are! |
By:
Players like Tom O'shea could move over and earn 10 times as much if he was any good, fact is he's not and he knows it, Barney took a shot cus he was heads above everybody in BDO, not many can take a shot like Barney.
By:
It must be easier to dominate a game only played in a small % of British Pubs.
If Tennis was only played in Britain people would be comparing Murray to Bolt. |
By:
Murray to bolt lol all his major wins are right up there!
By:
"Barney got bored beating 2 rate players"
Really? He won it in 1998,1999, 2003 and 2005. What happened in all of the other years he entered? And as for the standards involved of each, I can't be bothered to work it out, but would bet that the averages of the players in the BDO are at least as good once you take away the first few in each. |
By:
Shirley it should be Phil Taylor v Bolt's chemist?
