Stack sizes? Blinds? Position / stakes?

You need to give much more info if you require a reasoned answer.

the only thing i did wrong was checking the flop
i wanted some cash on the table
maybe got greedy
next time i wont check the flop
should have placed big bet on the flop
the guy got lucky hitting 7 on the turn
lesson learned

hes opened for 5 bbs , udont say how much the last allin was, but it appears if you may have called a 2 big a % of your stack pre, prob better to shove Aq than call 20% of stack off pre and fold if u miss.

not leading out with hands that are in front is a typical beginers mistake.

What were the starting stacks, I'm assuming approximately 5K?
Hindsight is a wonderful thing etc. Your check raise was good, as someone already said, he probably had you on Ax type hand. Had you check raised all in then he probably would've folded and you'd have taken down a decent pot. Had he called, then you would've bee delighted to see his pp 77, you'd have been about an 88% fav with 2 cards to come.

Looking at the hand from a different angle, what if he had a big pp or had already flopped 2p or a set?

I think you played hand alright. Your check gave him enough rope to hang himself. He got extremely lucky to call your check raise and hit one of his 2 outs immediately.

he leads out, the other fella always calls. He still goes broke, but the other fella makes a smaller mistake. And this is better?

you cant make the outcome fit the situation.
by not leading out you are giving the other person a chance to outdraw you without charging him.
not everyone calls a bet here everytime.

Personally, I think the villain should've folded to the check raise post flop. He c bet for information and got it. With starting stacks of 5K (and given his hand), I think it was an easy fold to lose only 1K and still be alive in the game with approximately 4Kish.

I am not the one sl agging him off co she lost. He played it fine. 2 ways to pay it, both ok for different situations.

This is clearly just a bad beat thread, sl ag him off for that if you must. But sl agging him off for his play is just weird.
