Firstly, congratulations to bifta who won the December Leaderboard, earning over $1,200 in free tournament entries!! 9 other players managed to better kunku's score and are registered into a Freeroll this coming Saturday at 20:00 UK Time. Changes in Prizes for January
As Betfair Poker Live! Vienna is soon upon us (19th - 21st Feb) the winner of January's 6 Shooter Challenge Leaderboard will take home a $1,000 Package to Live! Vienna :-) 2nd and 3rd place runners up will get a free $310 Seat into the 6 Shooter as John will be in Australia and unavailable to play the Freeroll!

So you start a promotion with a prize worth $1240 that doesn't involve people having to leave their house. And on day 6 you change it to $1000 and people have to play in Vienna?

Betfair in "changing the goalposts" for something that has already started shocker.

What's the difference between the $600 package and the $1000 package to Vienna? TIA.
The extra $400 is to cover flights as the previous $600 covered Buy In + Accommodation

Prompted by the above, I actually checked the buy in for Vienna and it is 200 Euros. So betfair effectively switched the prize from 4 $300 entries to 1 entry worth less than $300 6 days in to a promotion.
It is incredible how frequently betfair manages to design promotions that pee people off while giving stuff away. I would be flabbergasted, but I have seen it so many times before.

Honestly mate, I think the prize is great. Winning a trip for just playing your normal game! I checked the site and the package is now $1,000 plus you get to go on holiday. What is so bad about that? Vienna is a nice place so if they sent you to a $hithole I would completely get you, busy Austria is amazing! Plus obviously the event has a much larger prize pool than the Shooter, so a potential big payday is there.
Agree that maybe the notice should have come a bit earlier, but they simply could have not done the promo and not reward loyal players of the Shooter.. I could never afford a $310 daily event, so maybe i am not the best person to speak, but come on..
