recently been reading the 2+2 NLHE forum, and finding it very interesting, struggling a bit with some of the terminology used, mainly when the posters quote stats on their opponent in a particular hand..

eg, they describe someone as " Villian 23/17/3.6 Sqz 5 "

i presume sqz refers to squeeze plays, but what do the other figures refer to, and do you need something like Sharkscope to have access to them ?

presume its as basic as VPIP/%R/AGG RATING but it depends how you have your HUD configured on HEM i suppose. as a short stacker im more interested in 3bet%/ fold to 3bet % etc than anything else.

u wont get these figures off sharkscope u need Holdem Manager (HEM) or pokertracker.

thanks ariston ! gives me more questions though ;-)

VPIP ? - something played in position i presume ?

%R ?

I dont play that regular, but tend to have longish sessions when i do, been thinking of getting some tracking software but no idea whats any good.

VPIP - Voluntarily put $ in pot %
PFR - Pre-Flop raise %
AF - Aggression Factor

vpip is how many pots a player puts money volintarily (ie not the blinds).

on a 6 handed table someone with a vpip of say 25 is playing too many pots by the book and so many people live by these stats nowadays. it is possible to win with a vpip of 70 if youa re good enough post flop.

someone with a vpip of say 12% is a rock though and a rock obviously has a very narrow range. vpip helps you identify players ranges basically.

they are all terms from poker tracking software.

VPIP = voluntary put into pot (played hand when not obliged to)

PFR = pre frlop raiser

R is usual raise l

3b or 4B is 3 bet or 4 bet eg bet raise and the reraise

Had a browse thru the HEM forum re if it works with ladies, it seems that it does, but quite a few users had teething problems, which are hopefully all sorted now.

Another Q : is 20 buy-ins enough bankroll for NLHE 6 handed 0.5/1.0 ( 100 euro max buy-in ) ?
