if the cards were turned over (as they should have been if you were both all in) then cards speak and the back door straight wins.

six of clubs is right that cards always speak when on backs, BUT without any camera evidence i would say once cards have been collected and back in pack there is only peoles word what waas out, no prove, so the pair would keep pot

The Nuts poker League rules say that once the 'loser' has accepted that he has lost and the cards picked up then it is the end of the matter. In other words, the guy with the straight loses.
We had just this situation in the pub last week. A guy went all in with one pair against 2 pairs and failed to notice the second pair was forfeited. He shook the other guys hand and stood up. Cards were collected. At that point I noticed that it was a split pot, but the tourney director said too late and he was out. Rather tough I thought, but luckily he took it in good grace. |
