rather be skillful than lucky, a skilled player will always make a profit, but a lucky players luck wont last a life time.

There is no way u can predict the future with a card game.. u can be the best most skillfull player in the world but could have a 30 year bad run, if u are skillfull and luck is on your side u should do well but nothing is guaranteed. And a lot of the top players have all had there fair share of luck to get where they are, mostly from big tourney wins, i dont care what anyone says u will never win a 1000 runner tournament without luck.... skill will only get u on the road to it...

I was no good and never had much luck.
Although, I did get lucky to start playing poker when the opposition was awful. I should have played all day then, instead of a few hours here and there. My profits dwindled as the years went by, and I never spent any time working on my weaknesses. Opponents caught up and passed me, while I did sod all except moan about bad beats. In summary, I'm an unlucky no good lazy twaat, who would rather be lucky than good. :) |

luck is a huge factor in many fiorms of gambling , particularly pokerr.chance has no memory and u can run good/ba day after day. people says it evens itself out, that nonsense. if you play a fairly sound game you can lose 7 or 8 days in a row due topure bad luck. on the 9th day you are no more likely to run good than you were in the previous 8. this can go on and on day after day , week after week....obviuosly there are games that require far more skill than others i.e snap is a more skilled form of cards than poker. if you played the world snap champion you would never ever win a game s no amount of luck wil help you . contrary to this f you played phil ivey h/u every day in sngs you would win a game some where along the way , this proves snap is less affected by luck than npoker.

It's a shame snap winning would be dependent on speed of connection etc or we could petiton betfair to introduce it.

sickoflayin winners is basically talking about variance. Skill is the one thing you can keep consistent and control. of course you need luck but you need the skill to take advantage when you're running good. so skill wins hands down.
