Basically just played a hell of a lot this year: http://www.pokerstars.com/vip/supernova/elite/

Switched to PLO recently from NL Holdem cos I tilt a lot and when you tilt shove in PLO you generally have 30% equity or so :D

lool u playing PLO now :^0 awesome. what stakes?

Can u update us to let us know what sta rrs say to u, ie will they phone u up or what do u reckon?

Yeah, 1/2 and some 2/4 mixed in, 12 tables or so. I actually reckon my edge is bigger in PLO than NLHE despite only being reasonably good cos the standard is so awful, and even at 1/2 6-max now the standard is pretty good.

Also you can spite call/shove over the shortstackers and not worry about it :D

Awesome achievment, I got you on my find player list and always see you 15+ 1/2

What two packages are you going to choose out of interest? surely you got to go for the pca in Jan?

freaking awesome. Will you be playing as much next year?
By:

Thanks, shimmy for the info. Well played! How long have you been playing poker? Could you explain the above ? I have only started playing poker for the last two months and the main problem I have, apart from winning, is understanding the poker language. I do not understand nearly all the posts on here! I have looked at poker dictionaries, but they are not helpful. Is there a magazine or website that could help me?

There is nothing to be proud of here. We should all be pitying poor, young shimmy and urging him to embrace life and all the wonderful things away from his 16 pc screens, not just waiting for the sweet embrace of death.

AMEN

All done :) Terrible final session :D

Can;t make the PCA this year. I'm gonna take the cash + play/win the WSOP I think, cos I've never been to Vegas and a poker player should probably go once.

Mr Browning, I've been to 5 or 6 different countries this year, ty sir.

NOT doing this again next year!

annie, PLO = Pot Limit Omaha, NLHE = No Limit Holdem, Been playing semi-seriously for 4 years I guess.

Shimmy can you explain what you have achieved m8? I never play stars. Im thinking you have accumulated enough points to get to free buy ins to big live events?

Cheers and sounds like you have really put the graft in!

Whyyy..ssoooo...sssseriouss?

if it's at all poss to transfer, if not play mc and sell shares

By:

When: 27 Nov 09 17:37
Yeah I know EPT MC is worth a lot more, I really don't fancy Monte Carlo though and I'm pretty sure the packages aren't transferable. Dunno about selling shares, I don't have that much live experience and none in big tournaments. Got a while to think about it though.

Worked off 100 buyins for mainly 6-max 200NL, win-rate was terrible but at least it was positive. Last three months ran (/played) very bad and tilted a lot, it's not easy to 16-table 6-7 hours a day.

Very WP! Must say if I had the choice it would have to be Monte Carlo way above everything else, especially tacky vegas and the world series.

was it really worth it u made some money etc. but sounds like u made ureself really dejected by the game. I like to just keep it like a job about 3-4 hours a day so u stil enjoy it. i absolutely love the game and look forward to plying it if u dotn enjoy it i cant see much life in it for u!
By:

When: 28 Nov 09 06:41
Not sure spackers, I'd take it every time over a 9-5 and I have plenty of other stuff going on in my life to keep me sane. Was just something I wanted to do, but yeah next year definitely gonna try and start enjoying the game again and actually get properly good at it.

Forget Monte Carlo IMHO.

You struggle to get cash out there to play side events/sit and gos - there's one ATM within the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel which obviously runs out every day early and you can't use cards in the tournament bar for food or drinks until the end of the week when they have so much cash they actually then want you to use cards. Idiots.

The hotel is in a quiet end of the 'town' and nothing to really do out there apart from do €40 drinks in Jimmyz - total rip off.

The only good thing is the occasional Bugatti Veyron, spotting a supermodel or the view from the tournament hall across the bay, but when you've seen it once...

Meh, not my cup of tea.

Oh, and the hotel is staffed by ignorant local people.

^Yeah I tend to agree, not been to Monte Carlo but that's the iimpression I get. Not my cup of tea either, prefer the local pub tbh!

forget the "holiday", you could sell half the buyin in shares on this forum alone, which amount to what, 7.5k usd? so you've got 50% equity if you sell 1:1 in a massive tournament for $2.5k max, it's a no brainer for me anyway
By:

and again, if you can transfer it ill buy it lol
