just wandering how those of you on here who do this for a living cope with bad downswings?

since i took voluntary redundancy two months ago i decided to take 6-12 months of work and use poker to fund my lifestyle

month one was fine, nothing spectacular and a dry mtt run but I still made a chunk more than i would have at work so fine

this month - shocking, other than a 4th place mtt finish this has been the most spectacularly unlucky run I think I have ever had - the type where two outers regularly do you on the river, full houses get done by quads and when u have 77 allin against ak the board runs 39933 for a split! laugh out fking loud. thankfully i am still up about £100 but it really has been dire

so what do you guys do in these situations? remain philosophical in the belief its all about the long term?

i am still up

Get things in perspective, this is not a bad run, you could be down $7m

[Am not a pro poker player, but have heard of several successful pros that do in fact frisbee laptops if they have a real bad run]
