Had quite a bit of fun in a home poker game the other day regarding bum deals... can someone advise what the proper rules are for the following
1) When dealing the the first 2 cards the dealer flips a card face up by mistake...(re-deal or first burnt)
2) When dealing the the first 2 cards a player flips a card face up by mistake..(burnt and next given to him? ie the person after card)
3) the best of all.... after the flop so either on the turn or river.. the dealer shows a card by mistake, when they did not realise someone was still left to bet. so (as what happened at the weekend) person has JJ and is to decide whether to bet or fold... but before he does the river is shown as a ACE...thus giving the other player an advantage as they have the ace. from which they may have folded if player A had put in a half decent bet before the bum deal.
1 & 2 - the exposed card becomes the burn card for the flop, the player who owned the card gets the original burn card
3 - lol, probably should put the A back in the deck and shuffle before dealing

1 - continue dealing as normal and after dealing to the button the player gets the next card, exposed card becomes the burn. 2 - suppose this depends on place to place, but in my experience nothing happens if it was the player who turned the card over. if he turned over both deliberately then you might restrict him to just calling through that hand, no raising allowed. 3 - card back into deck, shuffle and resume dealing

nice one.. we did not think of the last one being replaced and shuffled - then again there were a few whiskeys involved before it kciked off...
so just to get it clear... say the deal bum dealt to the 4th person (out of say 9) as they get there 2nd card... so the next card goes to the 5th player instead of the 4th... so the 4th player gets the card after the 9th has been dealt? (ie what would originally been the burnt)
