That was my response from Betfair Australia as swimming is more popular over there than here, although it seems from their reply that it's a UK based decision and they are not really bothered. Aussie bookies are betting on it so I thought they might want to too although the timing is all wrong ffor the Aussie market. Fwiw they've had Europeans and Worlds every year since 2005. I've won and lost 4 figure sums on Swimming so didn't personally think the turnover was that bad. Still that's life. I pm'd bb66 and he kindly replied that he can no longer use the exchange as Betfair have pulled out of his country, so imagine that is partly behind the decision.

Michael Phelps is back and should be in Rio. A big ask to come back at the very top but you can't rule it out. His events haven't moved on like some of the others.
A bit of trivia that virtually no one knows. In 2004 Michael Phelps was going to win the BBC Overseas Sports Personality Award. But in November of that year he got charged with drink driving and the BBC decided to award it to Federer instead.
Another bit of trivia. Katie Ledecky's time in the women's 1500m would have won the men's World Championships in 1973 and 1975 and places her in the top 100 of the men's World Rankings which would make her the number 1 ranked male swimmer in Denmark Sweden Austria Switzerland Ireland and Portugal. That's very impressive!
